Well, if you can see them then whats the problem?

Hemp Batteries are Eight Times More Powerful than Lithium, Scientists Discover

Its a rather meaningless story. What is the energy density per kg and per CM2? What is the expected liefespan? Projected cost per unit? Is mass production feasible? Aside from the mildly amusing cannabis references, we've heard such claims many times before.

    Cycling in icy/snowy conditions

Yes, I do. As an MTB trainer it's one of the few opportunities to practice certain recovery techniques. It'll be counter-intuitive to the untrained, but riding clipped in gives you better control and allows slides to be recovered by pulling on the inside pedal ina manner that simply isn't...

Decathlon Riverside 500 e price increase

Decathlon ebikes are manufactured in, and imported to the UK directly from, China so Brexit is not a factor (their non ebiles are assembled in Lille, France). Demand is at a record high for recent decades, and manufacturing is at a record low for recent decades. It's not difficult to make the...

The road users statistically most likely to cause casualties

Yep, safer than walking, comsiderably less likely to die of head injuries than a car driver, yet guess which one is pressured by society into wearing a crap hat?

Why bike part manufactures doesn't make robust ebike specific drivetrain parts?

Weight, expense, unnecessarily not-cross compqtible with regular drivertrain components, etc. Shimano are a very successful outfit, and I'm sure if there were a viable business case for it they'd be on it in an instant.

    Removing speed limiter

Im quite chummy with our county's head of roads policing. He tells me they don't finger many on illegal ebikes - it's hardly a major priority - but they do catch them and do put the odd one before a court. Our county's traffic officers get training input on the subject, and trained to...

    Twist n Go

Why would the DVSA certify it if its not a motor vehicle? In any case, its the Vehicle Certification Agency that decides what is a motor vehicle and requires type approval, and what is not - that is not what the DVSA do at all, so they're talking out their arrises. The spiel is meaningless...

    Latest e-bikes on Tomorrow's world - 1985

Indeed. LiOn will be laughable. They'll be laughing even more soundly that we thought batteries were viable for mass car use.

Electric Bike for light touring - and Halfords

I've no personal experience of the bikes themselves so can't comment on thwt score. As for Hellfrauds, if you do an online check you can see what stores have stock and which ones do not. Much easier than phoning or visiting and speaking with a minimum wage spode who isn't paid enough to care.

After ebike conversion, has anyone had a higher rate of broken spokes or bent wheels?

I'm 6'5". It's chilly up here, but not snowbound all year round.

    Fastest ebike charge?

Ready for full production in 5 years. But 5 years ago other firms were promising similar that never materialised. And where does the increased voltage come from? Not such a problem for ebikes, but a massive issue for cars. I would suggest this is a case of...

CARRERA CROSSFUSE - Anyone Own One?

The Carrera's with full Suntour from top to bottom aren't too bad. It's the models that mix and match displays, controllers, etc from other brands that tend to be troublesome. The full HESC+ models generally aren't bad at all and should not be confused with the pick 'n' mix models that were...

What ebike security do you use?

Premium car manufacturers don't fit them as standard, so it's unlikely that the manifacturers of less expensive items would do so. Such aystems aren't at all difficult to defeat, particularly on mechamically simple, portable items like a bicycle. The moment they become standard on any model it...

    Sinclair c5 revisited

This has been 'almost ready' for some years. Anything that encourages people out of cars is fine by me. Sadly, the price has crept up to £4999, the price of a decent, low mileage small car, so it seems doubtful that it will tempt many out of the tinbox.

Which helmet for ebike? What do you use?

And they are unlikely to do so in the future. Cycling is an inherently safe activity - mile for mile you're more likely to die while walking than cycling. Approach the activity with a modicum of good sense and the overwhelming likelihood is you will be fine.

Which helmet for ebike? What do you use?

One of those WWI Boche helmets with the spike on top.

Appeal to trace man who outran police on electric scooter

At about £2000 all in costs per hour of flight, I don't think theyll be calling NPAS anytime soon for a lad committing document offences on a scooter. And it they did you'd probably  at that instead.
