Looking to buy first electric bike - have identified two

Thanks for the info - I will keep an eye on those things - I only got th ebike in November so I'm not up to 500 miles a yet - but it will get pushed a lot more when the weather warms up! I did have a problem with a Raleigh Array that I used to have, and Raleigh - via the local bike shop who have...

Looking to buy first electric bike - have identified two

Another mention for the Raleigh Motus - this is my 4th ebike (if you include one that I returned and my wife's folder that I ride occasionally) and the Motus is far and above the best. 2019 version has Bosch crank drive motor, central battery , rear rack Overall everything is just class. I don;t...

ELECTRIC BIKE make E Rider model 15. Wanting new batteries.

BGA reworking did a great job on the battery for my old bike - upgraded it at the same time There have been quite a few other people on here that have said the same

    Old man cyc

I would suggest getting the battery checked and possibly recelled - it may even be that a couple of cells are duff and are messing up the whole thing BGA reworking have a good reputation on here - they did a wonderful job on mine

    Freewheeling

I have recently moved from hub powered to crank powered - but both (actually all 4 that I have had) have had standard gears However I have noticed no real difference - possibly the new crank motor coasts a bit better - but that might be the tyres or something Based on logic - I would assume...

Charging problem - Raleigh Array - Suntour battery and motor

Update on this problem - Raleigh are still promising a solution to the problem However, it appears that I was the first to register a formal complaint. Since then several (dunno what that means but more than 5 or 6 I would think) have been sent back so this is a real problem and not just me...

    Battery for Carrera Subway E

You could try asking a specialist company like BGA-reworking - if it is possible to do it they can tell you When I got my old ebike recelled they increased the Ah a lot - and used better cells

    Cowboy ebike Guardian review

Does seem like a bit of a limited design. Having said which it would be fine round here - we don't seem to have any proper hills!

    Ebike car racks

I just used a normal cycle carrier - it works just fine I do take the battery off and put it in the car - that keeps some weight off the rack and makes it easier to lift the ebike up onto the rails If you look at it logically - I used to carry 3 normal bikes on it and it coped perfectly fine -...

    Disregarding UK pedelec laws

Yes - I also cannot see why power is an issue - if the motor cuts out at the right speed then why does it matter how much power you have to get there. My old Powacycle only had a 180W motor - my new Raleigh with 250W is much better but when I was in the Lake District a few weeks ago a bit of...

    Disregarding UK pedelec laws

I read somewhere that the 10% allowance is not actually a thing - I would assume that is the police actually tried to measure it they would have to do in a lab - and the power would be main thing they would look at How could they measure it anyway without taking it away - which would require a...

Charging problem - Raleigh Array - Suntour battery and motor

Thanks - I had noticed but it doesn't help much as you have to me so precise to line it up and can't feel when the pins are aligned I am hoping that the battery socket is faulty and the new one will be better

Charging problem - Raleigh Array - Suntour battery and motor

yes it is - well worth cultivating. I have noticed that people why he clearly knows tend to get significant discount on marked prices fro bits and pieces Strangers still get a discount - but much smaller He clearly realises the best way to keep business - if he hadn't been so helpful I could...

Charging problem - Raleigh Array - Suntour battery and motor

Been back to the local bike shop today - they have been really good - as have Raleigh a) Raleigh have offered to send a new battery and charger just in case there is a problem with one of them b) The LBS rang Raleigh for me (hence (a) ) and Raleigh admitted that they find the charger connection...

Charging problem - Raleigh Array - Suntour battery and motor

If you are skidding on the Array then I would suggest that this is just the tyres - I seem to remember that the Array's tyre looked more slick roadie type that the Vengeance

I want to buy my first eBike but I am overwhelmed by so many choices. I don't know where to pay attention.

My wife has one of these and I have ridden it quite a bit. It seems like a great bike - but like all bike with small wheels and fairly narrow handlebars it can be a bit twitchy on bumpy roads. Works fine when you get used to it

Charging problem - Raleigh Array - Suntour battery and motor

I have ridden my Array on rough paths and it coped fine I tried both but much preferred the Array - the Array did seem to have more Road friendly tyres - for what difference that makes I have noticed that the Array tyres are puncture resistant - dunno about the vengeance

Charging problem - Raleigh Array - Suntour battery and motor

Thanks for the replies I really think that it is a really bad design - it should be far easier to get sorted easily Basically there is no reason for it to be harder than plugging a laptop in
