    KTM Macina Cross going cheap.

The 8-speed doesn't have oil, it has grease. After googling the Nexus 8 I realise there are some reliability issues, and I'm not sure I'd want to take one apart for re-greasing, although just pulling the innards out isn't massively complicated.

wow, I never thought you'd need to do that with one of these, how fast do you go now?

    KTM Macina Cross going cheap.

Yes I was just thinking about a disc for the front the other day Rob. At the moment I'm just pondering my options with my hub-gearing fault, I'm getting a brief loss of drive in 8th gear. I've not contacted the supplier yet, the KTM importer is a lot closer to me, whether they'll be happy to...

    KTM Macina Cross going cheap.

Put a new pad in on one side and that's swapped the problem over to the other side  so I may have to spend some time setting them up if they'll move.

Mine feel fine even when one pad is having to move 4 or 5 times the distance the other one does. I guess I'm a very demanding e-bike user with riding on the very hilly lanes around where I live.

Woosh Sport CD review - anyone?

The speeds we were doing the comparison on were below 16 mph with some inclines. I need to try and go for a longer ride next time. I didn't like the bike, the saddle and sprung seat post are truly dreadful and want throwing in the bin. Looking back to the photo in the first post the bike I rode...

    KTM Macina Cross going cheap.

No the wheel positions are fine, both front and rear are exactly the same, it's just how these Magura brakes seem to work, I'm not entirely sure why only one side moves when using the lever adjuster. If I moved the caliper piston unit in by repositioning it in its housing I'd have to move it...

    KTM Macina Cross going cheap.

The 2-tooth drop seems to have had the desired effect, I've only had a brief ride, 1st still seems low enough and top has gained about 3 mph. Although a fault in 8th gear has got worse, it briefly losses drive, I'm having a play with the adjustment first, but it doesn't half knock your...

Woosh Sport CD review - anyone?

I am pretty certain my Bosch is working as it should do. Comparing the two side by side the woosh goes faster with less rider input, the Bosch needs more rider input to produce the same speed. Hopefully next time I see him I'll be feeling a bit better and be more able to give a better comparison...

Woosh Sport CD review - anyone?

I had a quick ride on a CD today, and also followed the owner for a short while. It was more powerful and quieter than my Bosch bike, the owner who I imagine produces less than half my leg power was able to pull away from me with not much effort on his part. A shame that the rest doesn't match...

    New bikes!

I tried that and got less miles! but I put it down to me not having as much go go juice in my legs, so you may do better than I did, be interesting to see. Also you're also at a higher consumption than me also.

I've decided hub rather than cd

I'm on about 1,500 miles. There is still life in the original KMC chain (Z510HX). according to KMC I'm doing well to get that much from a chain! They tell me that I'll get 5,000 miles from their X1 chain I think it's the hills that are killing it, and Strava gives me 600 watt estimates of power...

I've decided hub rather than cd

Hub is very sensible for your mainly flat riding. My Bosch bike is a chain eater, so I imagine there could be a lot of trouble with chains on the CD too. I've just ordered a better chain at a cost of £27, I'm hoping it will last a bit longer.

A user handbook isn't going to teach you how to ride a bike. Power settings and gears are as you would expect, the higher the power setting the more assistance you get, the higher the gear number, the higher the gear ratio.
