Bike for fairly fit 75 year old woman wanting assistance on hills

Did you read any of the OP before recommending this bike to a 75 year old lady?

    And another which one..sorry :)

As Steve says, if your handy, build. Or you want to save a bit of money look for a half decent second hand donor bike on eBay. Trek, Specialized, Carerra, Kona(etc) all come along regularly , and can be had at bargain prices if they have minor fault (puncture, loose pedal, etc.) You also start...

New rider . Advice please on kit .

I'm another throttle only. Can't be bothered with all the faff of a pedal sensor.

    Electric bike wanted

Sorry, that budget is too low, unless you are very, very fortunate and happen upon a second hand bargain. The problem with second hand is the cost of a replacement battery. £300-800 is common. The only other option is an old powabyke with SLA batteries, but really, you'd be throwing good money...

Electric cruiser - Not the norm

Looks like an SWX but can't be sure. Certainly looks like a geared, brushless DC motor. As others have said, a BPM/CST would be better.

    Problem - assistance cuts-out intermittently

Brad Allen is an idiot. I'm also pretty sure that he's a peadophile and that his genitals are smaller than avarage. There, I've said it. But I'm also pretty sure he's a bot.

    Replacement ebike battery

After you change bullets to Anderson's you just plug in. It's only two wires for the discharge, and another two for the charger.

    Replacement ebike battery

All the batteries I have bought from BMS come with Anderson powerpoles on. It's an easy job to swap your bullets for Anderson. Normally they put a pair in the pack with the battery. Anderson's are much better long term.

new toe bikes looking for spares

I think you are worrying over nothing. I have thoroughly abused CST's and SWX motors with heavy riders, big batteries and towing kids up steep hills. I've not stripped any gears in 1000's of miles. Unless you are unlucky, or have even less mechanical sympathy than me your motors will out live...

    Segboards, Are They Legal?

I'm working in London all week. I've seen a few zipping about, but the Met don't seem bothered. I saw a traffic cop stuck in traffic today, the guy overtook them on the pavement. No reaction.

    how far

Agreed. Most of these meters are voltage driven, so 50% would represent around 36v. I'd say that's about 70-80% used, giving you a total range of 43-50 miles at most.

Best ebike for 40 mile per day commute (hilly!)

Agree with others. It's not possible or desirable to average 20mph on a legal electric bike. A Bafang BPM/CST at 270rpm, with a 500w controller should do it.

    Hello All! UM36X Needs Help

You should be able to tell by connecting to the battery charging pins. Two of the pins will have about 40 (ish) volts on them.

    how far

Watt-hours takes the voltage into account. So your 8Ah battery above would be a 288Wh battery at 36v. Wh represents the amount of stored energy, so its useful to talk in those terms when comparing batteries, especially if they are different voltages.

    Hello All! UM36X Needs Help

Hard to tell. Normally, the screen is 0v, but that's just convention. The Chinese guys don't always play by the rules. To be sure, get yourself a cheap digital multi meter (DMM). Screwfix and toolstation sell cheapies (£5-10). if your in hurry. EBay if you can wait a few days. When you have...

Looking for an electric bike for a heavy rider

I know its rude to ask, but you might have to let us know your vital statistics in order to get accurate help. Weight, height and inside leg should do it. Also, some idea of the hill would be useful. Distance and grade, or start/finish elevation. Even two postcodes would help. That way you...
