Help! Is there a market for the Wisper Wayfarer?

Range is the most important consideration for me. I have the large 24ah 26v Kalkhoff battery and still carry a spare on some of my trips.

    Concerning gloves...

I never wear a helmet but always wear gloves, even in summer. Generally your hands are first to hit the ground to protect yourself if you have a spill.

How was your commute this morning?

Just back from a short 2 mile ride to Tesco on my unpowered Xtracycle cargo bike. My Xtracycle was previously fitted to an old Ridgeback hybrid frame which snapped in two last summer after ten years regular use. I now have the Xtracycle attached to a Trek 6000 mountain bike and it's nobbly...

whats the best method of carrying a spare dolphin battery please?

+1 for the Vaude silkroad. The larger size with the drop down side pockets gives you plenty of storage, even with a bulky battery loaded in the main compartment.

    Continental Tyres Undersize?

Thanks for the information Foghat. When you consider my tyres are the older original version, you'd think that Continental would have corrected the miss-sizing with the newer mark II version. It's disappointing as I like to fit larger tyres, where clearance allows, as they give a more...

    Continental Tyres Undersize?

My rims are standard size and the 700 x 38 Marathon Plus I removed measured 37mm wide, close enough to the marked size unlike the Continentals.

    Continental Tyres Undersize?

Having read Gubbins post about his spill on ice I decided to fit my Continental TopContact Winter tyres I bought about six years ago, but never got round to fitting. The marked size is 700 x 37 but when i fitted them I discovered they were only 31mm wide. I checked the size of a Continental...

    The new best headlight

Thanks very much for the informative reply's Dave and soundwave. I've used the excellent (but very expensive) Exposure Strada for many years which I swap between my bikes. This one looks great value so I think I'll give it a try.

    The new best headlight

Could someone please tell me what what type of connector this light has. I have an excellent waterproof Tecknet 10000mAh power pack I occasionally use for charging my phone. It has a USB power out and I was wondering if I could use this to power this light rather than buying another power pack.

    Bosch make a DD hub-motor

I really like the style of this but would rather it was powered with a 50cc engine. It would then be able to keep up with the traffic flow and have no range worries. Nearly all mopeds are boring scooter style and I’ve not seen anything like this since the Suzuki FreeGo concept bike a few years ago.

    Winter gloves

I've been using these Blazeware heated gloves, on my occasional winter rides, for the last few years. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Blazeware-heated-gloves/282273555896?hash=item41b8d0a5b8:g:Ah4AAOSw4GVYPYJm They provide a nice gentle warmth with heat elements in each finger and thumbs. They...

    ebike law changes coming....

This would be good news for folk like me who occasionally like a little bit over the current 15mph limit. Would the S class still continue?

Complete eBike kit just 3.6kg weight and price £225? Surely not...

A lot of things to like about this kit and Panda eBikes have been around for quite a while, so know their stuff. Looks simple to fit and is even lighter than the Cytronex kit at a fraction of the price. Could you tell me the two battery sizes available with the kit?

    2008 Kalkhoff Pro Connect

Good to see your still enjoying your bike Tillson. One of my batteries is over six years old and has only lost around 15% range, although it has only been used for about 5000 leisure miles. The Pro Connect is a slow climber as it's not as powerful as the latest bikes but in terms of weight...

    Wisper eMTB sneak preview

Good to know, but the Rio doesn't have the option of either torque or cadence sensors, which allow for different riding styles.

    Wisper eMTB sneak preview

What would you do to pretty them up a bit? All the best, David Hi David. There's obviously a good market for your Wisper Torque but for me it looks a bit old fashioned and I'd much prefer the battery mounted in the frame triangle. The motor, being very quiet, and with both torque and...

    Wisper eMTB sneak preview

This looks like a winner. As nice as anything offered from the likes of KTM or Haibike, and the Shimano E8000 drive could be a Bosch beater. The carbon frame at that price point should be very popular. Hope you bring out a touring version for for us older riders in the future. :)

    Lightweight Trekking Bike Build

Thanks for the detailed report Dave. I hope the Bafang Mini Hub due at the end of this year is a little quieter, with no power delay. Also the Bafang mini rear hub motor has cassette gears which I prefer.
