    Bike security at home

Beretta make a lovely range of 12 gauge shotguns... Once on the farm we had a night visit to our petrol tank, we were watching TV but my father heard. Out came the 12 gauge and boom! Me: I thought you were going to shoot in the air? Father: I used the wide spread barrel and at that...

    I'm bent!

No motor yet. Reasons follow: Basically as I have a working pedelec for shopping and heavy lifting I have decided to use the trike as an un-powered bike over the winter break. I will get some fair weather riding in and so I just ordered the Sunrace 11-40 8 speed wide range cassette which I hope...

    Yamaha PW-SE vs PW-X

Gearing probably. The GSM is probably good for 54 km/h with a 48 tooth chainwheel (48:11) but you have to start being seriously tucked down out of the wind at that speed.

eBikes Banned in New York City

Over 25 km/h I use my bell. Stop for pedestrians on pedestrian crossings which puzzles them as I am the only bike to do so. I shout at those who cross without using crossings. Oh and I don't have a motor (yet) :D trikes are not only fast and silent, they are invisible. Maybe those looking down...

I was reading that NZ has a helmet law? Adieu the Christchurch I once knew, less than 3% ride bikes there now :( High vis is obligatory on the open road after dark in France, I have no issues with that, it is logical. I don't wear a helmet on the upright but I do on the trike because I haven't...

    Ilkley Cycles Closing Down

I don't quite get the problem here, a bike shop goes out of business because it doesn't have the turnover, big deal! That is what business (capitalism) is all about, you are successful or you fail. My LBS is humming and yet there is plenty of competition: it is situated about half distance...

Are good times just around the corner? It seems they may be!

The Basque Country has wonderful cycling infrastructure in its towns and cities. The thing is that when Franco and company built the towns to handle the massive migration from the countryside they didn't plan in the private ownership of a car, people were so poor, so there is very little parking...
