Yep adhesive lined is good, but you need to be careful as it’s melting point is v high and can compromise the wiring insulation- I only melt the adhesive at each end where the wires are double insulated For your harness, I would add a dab of liquid insulation tape at each heat shrink end

Good job. Any reason why you didn’t solder the wires together? Did you use adhesive lined heat shrink?

Waterproofing simply isn’t a design consideration. Only a matter of time before it fails through water ingress, at which point you’ll be throttle shopping again

Have you checked device manager to confirm driver is recognised?

Good work. Next challenge is mounting the sensor I managed to find a (vastly overpriced) bracket online. Does the job very well though, but the sensor needs coating with liquid insulation tape to avoid water ingress
