    SRAM DualDrive

Well given the internals are 0.73,1.00,1.36. That equates to front derailleur's of around 31,42(change and multiply) and 57 which is a massive range without the clunking and probably lighter (without 2 extra cogs and front shifter/cable)

    SRAM DualDrive

Rohloff is 526% and agree that they probably won't change under full load, but was thinking of gearing the majority of use in middle gear (1:1 - most efficient) for normal flat - reasonable incline which looking at my current rohloff ratios is around 1.5 - 3.7 which equates to 42t/11-28t.

    SRAM DualDrive

Thought I put daft ebay offer on an SRAM DualDrive 700c wheelset (front with shimano dynamo). Got the whole set for £120. OK need to add shifter, cassette, clickbox and chain, but still a bargain. I am going to replace my rohloff wheelset (temporarily) with this and a 8 or 9 speed cassette and...

    That's Cheating!

Sarcastic - "But commuting 50 miles each way on your own in a SUV is not cheating?" Honest - "Severe emphysema" What you want to say - "**** off"

    BMS Low Voltage Cutout

First outing to test low voltage cutouts on battery today and a few things to note. 1. Cutouts appear to be only if the voltage goes below LVC(31v) for a few seconds or more, certainly doesn't happen instantly, read below 28.4v for a second on a steep hill and didn't cut out (Although this...

    NuVinci 360 gearing

Websites quote 2.45, 1.82 and 1.59 kg's respectively for N380, Rohloff and Alfine 11. The difference is not enough to dismiss the N380 for a tourer or even trails given the advantage of planetary gears.

    NuVinci 360 gearing

The gear ratios are easier to compare to derailleur's with example, I did a spreadsheet with a 52 front and 20 rear, giving Rohloff (0.73-3.81); Nuvinci 380 (1.30-4.94) and Alfine 11 (1.11-4.52) . I have Rohloff 52/16 giving 0.91-4.77 which is almost perfect for touring. The weight of the...

    Bafang Display

Only done 10 mile run and no difference so far, assist levels are user defined by controller at 6. The main point should be that it's only a display. All controller settings remain the same, it stores no settings, it only displays info set at the controller, should make no difference whatsoever.

    BMS Low Voltage Cutout

Now set to 31v. However now I have the colour display I can at least see what is going on and charge at around 35-36v and if still out and about I can be very light on the assist and avoid the throttle.

    BMS Low Voltage Cutout

What you say does seem to tie up with 18650 cell discharge curves I've been looking at and in practice this is the reality as you will be charging before this event rather than leaving it run to 31v as you can with the colour display, but useful to have the reserve just in case even if you can...

    BMS Low Voltage Cutout

Sounds like a plan, but is the result the same? i.e. power cut's out or does the display stay on with Low voltage warning. Not and issue with the new colour display but just curious. Also 3.5v per cell as per as per other post seems a tad high to me.

    BMS Low Voltage Cutout

I am just beginning to tweak settings on a BBS02 controller via the Bafang ConfigTool software and USB/Serial cable and it occurred to me that there are probably two different low voltage cutouts. One I have set for the controller and another on the battery BMS. I have a 14.5a 36V which the BMS...

    Bafang C961 Display

Just installed the new DPC-14 Colour Display, so anyone wants a C961 display let me know. Seem to be selling in the UK for £58 which seems a tad steep to me. Say £30 including postage. Looks unmarked BTW.

    Bafang Display

Just Installed the new DPC-14 colour display and like it a lot, the voltage readout is so much more useful. Anyway I have a good condition C961 if anyone wants one.

    Alfine hub with BBS02?

Ran BBS02 with Alfine 11 and now Rohloff, both excellent but because of the torque issue it's nice and safe to keep the chainring to sprocket ratio way above 2, both have to be backed off to changed. I thought long about the new Nuvinci 380 as no backing off required, but weight, cost, longevity...

    Help?

I got hold of a KTM rohloff tourer a couple of years ago and put a BBS02 500w Bafang. Best ebike I've had (so far of course), flies up steep Cotwolds hills. I have no cutoff on the hydraulic rim brakes and you have to back off when changing gear more than usual which requires a little more...

    Bafang Colour Display DPC-14

Except I had already cut it to the exact distance required and reconnected 18 months ago when building. You are correct in that when the kit is new there is plenty/way too much length and requires cutting or looping/tidying somehow.

    Bafang Harness / Extension Cables

Came across this German company making custom cables. Thought members should be aware. Prices look OK https://www.e-bike-technologies.de/index.php/en/wiring-harness/bafang-bbs/bbs-kabelbaum-nach-ma%C3%9F-ohne-bremsschalter-detail Anyone used them?
