    Brexit, for once some facts.

I ride a trike sir! The other day at a red light a man in a van said "excuse me but your wheels are touching the ground". "All three?" I asked, he did a double take and kind of surprised said "yeah..." and drove off shaking his head. Trikes are way more sexy than Jags. Anything is more sexy...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

A while ago I worked for a consulting company, they hired me for those projects when they needed the facts, even disagreeable facts. When they needed a report which told the client only what they wanted to hear they hired someone else...

    BBS01B ETM

I think Bafang changed the winding on the BBS02 so that it can handle more current. The original BBS01 had two current settings: 15 Amp and 18 Amp, are you sure the wire is thick enough to handle 25 Amps? You are increasing the current by 39%, where is the extra heat going to go if you stall the...

    Bafang BBS01 changing RPM

Which is why I would always recommend an external controller, heat is easier to evacuate. I have finally found a supplier of a 15 Amp KT sine wave controller that is 36/48v and which has waterproof plugs to boot. All that needs to be done is to add an external speed sensor connector which is...

    Anti-mugging lock?

I have been thinking for a few days about areas where an anti-mugging lock would be useful during my rides. Couldn't find any, so I will just spend the money saved drinking Rioja in a seedy bar in a wilder part of the Basque Country...

    Bafang BBS01 changing RPM

I get back EMF when I spin over about 85 rpm at 36v and closer to 100 rpm at 44.4v (nominative) so the correct rpm is an issue. I wrote last week in another thread that after using my trike - no motor and my preferred cadence is quite high - getting back on to the pedelec the motor cut out...

    Bafang BBS01 changing RPM

Yes but I am calculating for a double chainring, the single dished one supplied is about 50.3 mm like the BBS01. Remove the dishing and add half the space between the two chainrings you are at about 58-59mm, add 5mm for maximum derailleur reach... Where I live a double chainring is mandatory...

    Bafang BBS01 changing RPM

I should have said external controller GSM - 85 RPM loaded like the Bafang @ 36v so about 110 at 48v. It is BBS01 clone (BBS01 parts fit), the only distinguishing feature is the external controller version. Oh and 64.5 mm chainline from technical drawing not measured on bike.

    Bafang BBS01 changing RPM

Get a GSM from Woosh and a 48v battery would be the cheapest legal sollution. I only need 44.4v :)

    L1e-A testing requirements

National governments have the freedom to add local specific clauses to EU directives and some are quite bad - the French Ministry of Agriculture for example tends to go overboard on many EU agriculture directives. If as flecc said the directives were applied as is then we would have s-pedelec...

How to get legal approval for a pedelec throttle

Unfortunately (or fortunately depending) trike brakes don't quite work like that. The only way to brake both wheels of a delta trike equally is a brake disk on an axle connecting the wheels. Vélomobiles have coupled front brakes because they have suspension. On an un-suspended tadpole trike you...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

:D You never quite got the hang of the French way of doing things did you? About 33% of burnt cars are insurance fraud. Say you have a car you want to get rid of and which has more insurance value than resale value (a diesel for example), you park it for the night at a "hot spot" and slip a...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I have a real issue with this because it has spilled over into other EU countries - Le Pen is just translating much of the brexit tripe into French and passing it off as her own "program".

How to get legal approval for a pedelec throttle

Some delta trikes have a brake on the front and a single disk brake on the drive shaft on the rear (those with diffs), how will the law see that, as a brake on all three wheels?
