Prices of the electricity we use to charge

I wasn't suggesting the capacitor dumps the charge straight into the battery, there would of course be a regulator between the 2 based on the battery capability which charged from the capacitor at the appropriate rate. I was more wondering why they could not be used to get the energy onto the...

Prices of the electricity we use to charge

To be honest considering the state of intoxication at 2:30am on Jan 1st I'm just amazed the post was reasonably coherent with a minimum of spelling errors. I take your point about lamp post and bollard chargers and the necessary current requirements, I guess their biggest enemy is the...

Prices of the electricity we use to charge

Imagine a dystopian world where electricity had always been the choice for power of infrastructure and said infrastructure was well established. Charginging points abound, although home charging is the norm. Then one day someone discovers oil and gas and builds a car powered by this new...

Are most people here NOT UK based

The more people I meet the more I liked my cat. Sadly I had the same experience as Portals 2 weeks ago. She was a rescue cat of undetermined age, but Vets best guess based on dental examinations etc put her at 19ish when she died. I think it's fair to say she didn't have an owner she had staff...

    Riding in the rain footwear

Not cheap but waterproof socks.... I have pairs of "Sealskinz" and "Otter" brands. They really do work, but be sure to get the long ones rather than the ankle versions (Rain runs down the inside and you end up paddling not pedalling)... TTFN John.

Safe cycle routes. Are there any really?

I don't know if it's just the level of intelligence of dog walkers in my area but the amount with dogs on those extendable lead thingys who without fail move to the opposite side of the path to their dog and seem genuinely surprised that I can't simply cycle between them and their mutt. Agree...

Mizanur Rahman death: Coroner calls for e-bike battery standards

I'm sure there is a logical reason, but one thing which surprised me when I bought my 1st E-Bike (Assuming I understand correctly) was the BMS was in the battery not the charger. I appreciate the extra up front cost of an intelligent charger but as it would be expected to be a one time purchase...
