if its the e-mate mtb then it comes with the thumb throttle set at 6kmh [walking speed] but this can be adjusted in the settings to go as fast as the bike is set to. the lcd screen it fixed i,m afraid .

    can they handle it?

thanks eddie yes it does make sense what you say. perhaps i should explain better what i mean by jumps. i don,t mean some of the airbourne stuff that would potentially damage an ordinary xc or all mountain bike . jumps where the rider is potentialy jumping over the height and length of a car is...

    can they handle it?

great video thanks. that gives a good review of the bike. pardon my stupidity eddie but when you say" jumps aside " do you mean that you think your bike should or should not be used for them . thanks

    can they handle it?

thanks flecc for clearing that up. i think my skills don,t extend to the level in the video soundwave ;) i don,t mind fixing normal cycle part damage in the event of a minor spill but are you saying that the electrical parts can suffer badly ? have you experience of this with your own bike? thanks

    can they handle it?

have now watched the youtube videos as suggested and the bikes are being used to great effect on a variety of terrain . looking at these it appears that the bikes can take more punishment than expected. so i,m now back where i started with wondering "can they handle it" i can understand members...

    can they handle it?

fine bar jumping it as above. not being able to negotiate jumps in roughly the same manner as a non electric bike would be too restricting/expensive it would mean knowing your routes well and having to descend those that you do with more caution. i suppose that on a route with no jumps or...

    can they handle it?

thanks for the replies. a bit disappointing if the battery mounts on some need reinforcing and the handling not being great. is this the same with the haibike all mountain type bikes? by this i mean how do their other bikes compare to non electric hard tail and full sus ones ? i realise that...

    can they handle it?

i was riding at a mountainbike trail centre recently on my non electric bike and met a guy on an electric downhill haibike. it certainly looked the part and this got me wondering how well it would handle a spot of downhilling. i have some knowledge of the sport and know how punishing {and...

    Oxydrive kits

i have had this problem fixed by oxygen . it may even have been a member off here that fixed it. as above check the connections between the battery and the bike for any signs of overheating . i have not connected or disconnected the battery whilst it was switched on but it did develop this problem

    good service from oxygen

it was the connection that went into the battery. there was evidence of heat build up and it was causing the power to cut out.

    good service from oxygen

i recently had a problem with my e mate mtb. [cutting out] i contacted john at oxygen and arranged to take the bike to him to have a look at it. my wife and i arrived at the oxygen premises on a saturday morning and we were greeted by john himself , who had opened just for us. we were given a...

Help required with power loss problem

not been on here for a while so just spotted your post. i had the same problem of a loose battery holder and thought it was cured after tightening , but then the bike started doing strange things, after a full charge the motor would cut out or stall like a misfiring petrol engine.[ and show low...

    rear carrier cover

sorry should have said bikes are on back of van and i have checked out campervan sites but some critisise even well known makes like fiamma (not for aerodynamics) and only wondered if any one on here has experience. i don,t bother with cover on non electric bike and it gets filthy but as has...
