There's more peace of mind with Bafangs which leave the factory engraved 250W. It seems all TSDZ2s are rated 750W and labelled by others. I'll avoid getting one, because I'd hate to get badgered by the law and insurance companies too. :rolleyes:

Are TSDZ2s illegal? All TSDZ2 motors are rated 750W... It appears that the motors are all the same and use the same controller, with the only difference between 36V 250W, 36V 350W, 36V 500W, 48V 500W, 48V 750W being firmware parameters on that controller. I'd hate to be sued by a insurance...

I wonder if the reason why so many drivers get off relatively lightly for killing cyclists, is because most jury members can empathise with fellow drivers? Not many of us can truly relate to being disabled.

Certified disabled people are like teflon, hard to jail. Has the video been resolution cropped as well as shortened? Security cameras are usually wide angle, that one's purpose appears to be monitoring the entrance. Perhaps the jury had access to a wider view as well as longer recording?
