Are there any good inexpensive truing stands?

I've used a cable tie, but it was hard to see the small gap between it and the rim. Maybe I should place some white paper behind it.

Are there any good inexpensive truing stands?

    I'm also considering this one - https://www.tredz.co.uk/.Minoura-FT-1-Pro-Portable-Wheel-Truing-Stand_100064.htm

    When to replace rims?

I'll buy one of those. Changing rims at 1mm seems wise. Thank you.

    When to replace rims?

Thank you that's very interesting and useful information. His idea of making a rim guage using a spoke is a much better idea.

Are there any good inexpensive truing stands?

My wheels need truing. Has anyone tried this West Biking truing stand, or had good results using something in a similar price range? https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003827472417.html I can't afford a P&K Lie https://www.pklie.de/truing_stand.html...

    When to replace rims?

My rims might need replacing soon... the wear indication line is surrounded by deep rim brake erosion lines, and the rims are looking a bit concave. If I put cut up a spoke and hold two spoke sections against the concave areas at either side of the rim, and measure their combined thickness...

    Video Editing Software for PC.

Looks like they've gone the subscription route like many. But you can try before you buy. Make sure you're trying the version you're thinking of possibly buying. If software and hardware are stable, even old computers can render video. I edit @1080P using Sony Vegas on a Core2Quad Q9400, 2GB...

I'm a long time user of Sonic Foundry Vegas, which was so good Sony bought it and the whole of Sonic Foundry then rebadged it as Sony Vegas Pro... and there Vegas languished with few updates for many years until it was bought by a German company which renamed it Magix Vegas and also other...

Help! Cannot find a bike for someone my size in UK at all!

Does this chap look heavier than his 125kg Stealth Bomber (?) weight limit? I'll ask how much he weighs if I see him again. If I can catch up

Grant Shapps wants a speed limit for cyclists

That's if you don't get hit by one (or two) of the million uninsured drivers (according to the Men In Black). It's about 20k for loss of a limb, depending on the limb (I think). 20k for a testicle, depending on the testicle...

Grant Shapps wants a speed limit for cyclists

It's a good job I don't have a nice looking a*se! Clearly what's required is a continuous aerosol dispensing of Liquid Ass behind me https://www.jokeshop.co.uk/det/246/Liquid-Ass-The-ultimate-fart-spray/

But it only cost me £4.50 + £5.40! Plus £1 for superglue. I might add another with a badger hazard icon.

And here it is mounted to my saddle springs. Zipties may be a little tight, but it's secure and won't flap about. Certainly more secure than those silly magnets Passpixi sell. If curious drivers drive closer for a better look, they'll brake suddenly and recoil in horror realising Big Brother...

Grant Shapps wants a speed limit for cyclists

 Oh no! I've cut 1mm (1 point something, can't measure without taking the blue wrap off, and I can't measure now that it's drying) aluminium sheet (£5.40 for a large sheet from my local struggling hardware store), filed the edges smooth, and I'm just waiting for the superglue to dry...

Grant Shapps wants a speed limit for cyclists

They sent me two Passpixis for £4.50. Now to superglue them to 1mm aluminium sheet and ziptie through corner holes to the back of my bike seat. Passpixis do look a bit reflective. Let's see if they keep these stupid drivers away.

I don't know if he braked because of my Hornit 120db beep, which in theory is louder than the AirZound's 115db? The weird shriek Hornit option is 140db, but that's too strange to be recognised as anything non-avian. I've ordered a Passpixi XL "Spare" 120mm square camera symbol for £4.50. I...

Grant Shapps wants a speed limit for cyclists

I worry about doing that at night, in case some drunk, druggie, or texting driver fails to see me and runs me over... if I'm over to one side, at least I'd be out of their direct path.
