I completely disagree. If the bike has covered the claimed mileage of just 828 miles then it has had one hell of a hard life. Look at the corrosion on the shock bolt, reverb bolt and fittings, headset bolt, seat post clamp bolt etc. Then look at the wear on the rubber handlebar grips, brake...

Gubbins I guess that the most obvious thing to do, is to put that very question directly to Scott Bikes, and request that they put into writing that despite the bearing being fully exposed, that neither corrosion or premature wear will affect the bearing through riding in UK winter conditions...
