    DIY Conversion - Voodoo Marasa

DHL have contacted me about my PSWPOWER order asking me to pay £3.79 custom charges so not sure what they put on the package. I paid £56.67 incl p&p for the controller/LCD. If this is the total charge then that is not bad. In the past I have also had to pay a £7 admin charge, though you never...

    Electric brompton is coming soon?

Yes Flecc though I heard that the expansion to the new premises did cause a slight dip in profits, maybe just rumour I don't know. Will Butler-Adams has certainly taken the company forward in terms of expansion and moving into the foreign market. I am not keen on their practises in terms of...

I was planning to start with a 10s3p which I will build in 5s3p blocks for easy balancing. That would give me 9.3Ah at 1.5kg. My existing Konion packs are built that way and I have two 10s2p, 3Ah and one 10s4p, 6Ah packs I have been using for over three years with no BMS and no failed cells...

Wow you guys are quick off the mark! Just watched the video. Its hard to see what they have done ?? I put a restrained comment on the youtube post lol Maybe everything is in that bag with an umbilical chord ? We will no doubt see. Weights will be interesting. Any sensible conversion will...

Thanks guys I had noticed/wondered if those strips were pure Ni. Good call https://eu.nkon.nl/nikkel-batterijpack-verbinding-soldeerstrip-27mm.html Like those spacers to make it all neat and tidy. https://eu.nkon.nl/keeppower-3-18650-battery-spacer.html :)

Yes It was generic I hadn't checked the width. Still can't decide which VTC cells to get VTC5 2600mAh or VTC6 3120mAh. I guess as I am a weight weenie I should get the higher capacity ones :p These have come a long way from my Makita based Sony Konion VTC 2 1600mAh cells now three years old...

When I checked the designation you quote it wasn't there. Dave when I first saw that pic I thought it was a saucepan given the breakfast background! I need glasses! Jerry

I think its around £34 or possibly £39 not clear. There seems to be a different options of gift or sample when I read the gov.uk site. All rather confusing. I left it to him rather than ask him to mark it down. I have a few packages coming from China and have selected different couriers to see...

I have taken a punt on the small one of this post. Will report back once it arrives. So how do you find the larger from ebay Dave ? I am fed up with trying to find cells with tags on them or ready made up. This should enable me to experiment with lots of different sizes/capacitiesvoltages...

Usually I like the small metal caged ones but so far pleased with these DMR V8 Mountain Bike Pedals on my Voodoo Marasa I recently purchased. Jerry

I emailed him about it. Most of my builds are 5s2p or 5s4p packs that I then series together. This allows me to balance them using a cheap model charger balancer as and when. I dont use a BMS! I set the cutout on the controllers to 31v. I have used Sony Konion cells for over three years...

Yes too wide likely and yep for some the 48V one would be very desirable. Jerry

Have you got a welder for the cells ? Been thinking of getting one of those for a while. Larger batteries are cheaper now but I still prefer something smaller for my conversions. Jerry

Looking at that controller I note they are sensorless ? might even work with my Tongxins. Would be nice to try on my Brompton with the flashy screen. Infact the front one would probably be good on the Brompton though I guess too wide. Jerry

Been thinking about trying the Xiongda motors that D8veh and awol are testing. The supplier sent me some nice pics today this is the front one. Maybe on my wifes Halford's Pendleton. At the moment it only comes with 36 hole versions. Jerry
