    For Sale Storm eBike

Hello The one I described in this thread. https://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/can-you-tell-me-about-this-bike.44529/ I've ridden it and it's all in good working order although the charger cable is frayed. Bafang front hub motor, Nuvinci N360 rear hub. Mechanical discs front and rear...

    BBS01B chainline

Hello Having talked to Andy at Whoosh, I'm going to take the plunge and buy one of these, I think. I have the eBike I showed you the other day and it's fab but I think I am asking a lot of it, it's too big and I think it's ugly. Can you let me know what the chainline measurement of a BBS01B...

Help! Can you tell me about this bike?

Thanks! I see it's been "upgraded" to 3 speed. I know nothing about ebikes but quite a lot about pedal bikes - it seems massively overengineered, and not in a good way. I remember estay bikes first time round. Actually, the hub might be one of the things that gets upgraded. I hear those...

Help! Can you tell me about this bike?

I have recently acquired this bike, but I can't find pictures of it anywhere so I know nothing about the brand. Has a Nuvinci N360 hub at rear, and an 8fun SWXK35 front hub, rated at 250w. Just needed a charge but otherwise appears to be working as intended. Does it have a weight limit? I am...

Help! Cannot find a bike for someone my size in UK at all!

Hello @Ally_W5 . I am not as big as you, but I have been. Remember that almost everyone in the cycling industry is a failed racer. They don't design bikes for people like us. But we absolutely deserve to have access to this activity. I have looked into weight limits A LOT, and my feeling is...

    Help! Weight limits, BBS01

I believe that would void the warranty with Woosh. It's a bit of a moot point, really. The BBS01 kits don't seem to be in stock with them. What are my other options? Are there any hub kits that would work for me? I'd like to stay legal, but I am conscious of the fact that pretty much no-one...

    Help! Weight limits, BBS01

Hello I am looking into buying a BBS01 kit from Woosh. I want to convert my old mountain bike (26" wheels). I am 130KG. I want something that will help me get up the last 20% hill to my house. I'm not ashamed to push the steep bit, but at the end of my working day it is nice not to have to do...

Weight limits for really hilly commute

That seems doable. I understand some people have fitted doubles to these. I have got lots of chainrings, I could make something like a 36/46. Walking speed is fine, as is getting off and walking speed.:)

Weight limits for really hilly commute

The climb is very short - about 200ft. I am not too proud to walk that bit. There's a longer gradual climb after that, then the rest of it is fairly undulating.

Weight limits for really hilly commute

I'm not worried about my legs so much, it's damaging the motor! If it is unlikely to give me any trouble, I'll do it.

Weight limits for really hilly commute

Ah, sorry guys. I meant the BBS01, I just got the descriptions mixed up. I don't want to go faster than a normal bike, just get a little help up the hills when I'm tired. So this is everything I need? 46t seems like very tall gearing. Or am I underestimating what it can do...

Weight limits for really hilly commute

Hello I am looking at getting a new job. It is in the centre of Derby, and I am not driving there in rush hour. I am thinking about getting an ebike for my commute, which would be 8 miles each way but has a 16% hill at one point. I'm pretty big, 20ish stone. I would be taking panniers with my...

Help! Where's life at these days? Conversion for a cargo bike

Yes, I had a trailer back when I used to live on a boat. It was quite good fun, and useful for gas bottles. A pain at gates though. I used to call it Helena Handcart. Maybe I'd get another. They are a bit of a drag, if you'll pardon the expression. What about the electric conversion, though...

    Vintage bike conversion

Yes. You could have a fork that may break, or you could start with one that would be better for its intended purpose and has mounts for better brakes. It's all about the risk you're willing to take and convenience. Ideally, the fork ends ought to be parallel, as otherwise you're more likely to...

    Vintage bike conversion

Raleigh forks are brazed on the outside of a tube, not into a lug like most steel forks are. Fine in common use, but spreading them is outside of that intended use, and you may pick the one that missed quality control and isn't properly brazed. Also bear in mind that after you've spread them...

Help! Where's life at these days? Conversion for a cargo bike

Hello I have the chance of getting an allotment. It is too far to walk, and I will have luggage (I could drive, but that misses the point). I'd like an eBike. Requirements: Rider weight is 130kg (actually a lot less at the minute, but let's assume I could put the weight back on). I expect to...

    Vintage bike conversion

I know nothing about electric bikes, but I know quite a lot about old bikes including Raleighs. Here are some thoughts in no particular order. Raleighs have proprietary threads for headset and bottom bracket. The front forks are designed for a narrower axle as Raleigh front hubs only have a...

    Elephant bike conversion

Sorry to hijack this thread, but I would love to hear about your conversion. This might be a really useful thing for me.

    Rear wheel coversion kits

Long bikes are interesting, John. But I suspect they are overkill for what I want to do. Plus the size puts me off; it would be a bit like manouvreing a tandem! Do you do anything like a Pashley Mailstar with electric assist?
