I just use OS maps app on phone and tablet, not free £25 per year, but the best mapping. If I want detail I count contour lines, but mostly I estimate distances using the 1km grid and only worry about the big ups. Distance and route from theaa.coom/routeplanner, but that does not do hills.

I'd look a bit further than the linked battery. That's the sort of bottom end cheap rubbish likely to suffer from the defects that cause battery fires.

I don't have Bosch specific knowledge, but one thing I'd ask and one think I'd try... Did it work properly the last time the previous owner used it? Can you remove the battery and clean / wiggle the contacts just to be sure there is a good connection. Same with any other accessible connectors...

@boostbikes, can you post images of the compliance labels on your bikes?

Either the disc is in poor condition or the caliper is misaligned or they are pads of a noisy material, as many cheap off Ebay and after market pads are. My Shimano B05S resin pads on a disc in good order and in an aligned caliper are silent, reasonably powerful, last longer than anything else...
