Prices of the electricity we use to charge

I read your post yesterday and meant to reply sooner. There is the Riot Compensation Act but is that fair or just that we all have to pay for the damages and not the rioters? When you say 'every time they complain', most of us always have something to complain about but we don't resort to...

In your view, who should pay for the damage to roads, vehicles, shop windows etc?

I think it happened to be Sunderland. Some group makes a suggestion then others join in. You can see some wore a kind of uniform in grey track suit, grey top, grey hood making the job harder for the police to pick out the individuals from videos. Those guys can just as easily travel to Amsterdam...

what point to prove? That the wokes run the country and not them? They were waiting for an excuse to spend their weekend fighting. That's not a sport.

Those who riot this weekend are thugs, going out looking for a fight. There is absolutely no justification for what they've done. Those who use freedom of opinion to whip up division and anger should be treated as criminals.

A bag is usually better looking than a 3d printed box. You can also bolt the bag to the frame like I've done on my bike.

It is important that the internal connections are immobilised. That is usually achieved by using anti spark XT connectors throughout. If you build your own pack (I don't recommend building your own packs for reasons below), you need to solder the XT tails very carefully. I don't recommend...

After only 2 weeks, US election betting odds narrow quite rapidly. Trump 5 for 6 Harris 11 for 10 Who do you think is going to be the next president?

Of course it is illegal to come here without a valid visa by small boats but I expect this kind of statement from those who have something to gain from it (like Farage) but why you? I Border Force has to deal with those who come by boats but they haven't done anything to encourage them. Their...

Are we still talking about Farage's 4 million voters? Most of those prisoners are there not because of terrorism. They are expected to be deported as soon as they come out of prison. We used to be able to send them to their countries' jails before brexit.

As I said before, I would rather hear your views than just quotes from the internet. It does not surprise me that most acts of terrorism are committed by those who are immigrants or have immigrant families. They are the most affected by conflicts elsewhere like Palestine, Syria, Afghanistan...

that's the trouble with Farage. He sees evils only from immigrants.

    Battery Fires

I assume than when such legislation is introduced, some charging standards for e-bikes would be introduced like CHAdeMO. We can't continue with law of the jungle like it is at the moment.

    Battery Fires

You need comms for fast charging, monitoring and datalogging. Charger matching is second best. Batteries are usually supplied with matching chargers but some people would search the internet for the cheapest compatible chargers ignoring the risk. Prevention is cheaper and better than cure.

You need about 10wh per mile so 25 miles is very doable with a 360wh battery. However, you need good cells to avoid voltage sag when climbing hills.

even if you cut off the power to the charger, the chemicals inside the cells are the source of the fire when it's heated enough.

    Battery Fires

I am one of about 1000 businesses selling e-bikes in the UK. I don't have any influence. I think senior members of the forum should always err on the side of caution in their advice. Battery fires are serious risks.

    Battery Fires

when the heat reaches the cable outside the case, the battery pack has already gone into thermal runaway. There is nothing anyone can do to stop the process and fire. The weakpoint is usually one of the cells is faulty. There is nothing you can do to predict which one will short out. Fast...
