    Halfords Assist

Less likely to wipe out the hanger on a kerb, root or rock too.. Those derailleur setups on small wheels always look very scarily close to the ground to me.. OK, so I am just nervous...

    Speed Difference

I'd rather believe a garmin GPS, but it has to be in non power save mode, have a lock on at least 8 satellites, and take the average over a minute or so. Oh, and you have to be under 600mph (?) or something, else you need a military version. Under proper conditions it gets the right answer...

petition to increase the speed limit

Like everything else it is the 1%, or 0.1%, that causes the problems. Glad it was never you who cut me up in their 18 wheeler.

    Need for LESS speed!

If balance if the issue, then going slower might not solve it. Need a trike, or maybe put those training wheels / outrigger back on?

Help please with Kalkhoff Agattu transmission

We can certainly find someone (likely not on here though) to tell you that, if you like. They will also sell you some building land in Florida, and a couple of Covid cures, if you are in the market.

    To Swytch or not?

Right now bikes (e or otherwise) are definitely a seller's market, so you could probably unload your existing claud butler via ebay (if you want to) at a profit .. assuming you can find a replacement e-bike which is actually in stock somewhere. Raleigh, for a random example, are quoting new...

    Question about battery swap

Lithium batteries are a game changer, and what made e-bikes useful (IMO), but they do need buying/treating with care. The high energy density is why royal mail don't like them posted, airlines don't like to fly them around in bulk, and why they are very spectacular when they are mistreated badly...

petition to increase the speed limit

Perhaps we should be lobbying the other way .. cars/motorbikes restricted to 80 MPH, no more than 100Kw, unless you qualify for a 'supercar' license which requires a serious driving test, full safety harness, and several £k per year road tax. Mind you, HGV drivers (in the UK at least) already...

    lost keys haibike

When you get something with a key, first job is to GET A SPARE CUT, and leave the spare at home, with your other spare keys. Most locks come with 2, but IMO 2 is one too few. My only exception is the sort of car keys they issue these days, where acquiring an extra spare requires electronic brain...

Taxpayer-funded electric bikes to get more cyclists on roads

IMO, new technology which so far surpasses the original that it's worth making a swap. Eg 12v lead acid batteries don't cut it these days (ditto incandescent bulbs, 'E' efficiency home appliances, etc). But leaving that aside, there is indeed too much 'throw it away, this year's colour is...

Advice on which e-bike to buy

But do Leon Cycles UK actually exist or are they just a bolt-on front for the German company? Everything seems to point you back at the German site, and that seems to be where they ship from?

bike without single point of failure

Looks wonderful .. now when will Mr Woosh build it into a bike? I guess we would even get hub gears 'for free'. 8>.

    Genuine company from Germany ?

If you paid with a credit card then your second line of defence is the cc company, if bikester don't meet their obligations. If you paid some other way, you may be out of luck.

    length of lockdown?

Don't we have a moderator who can move this whole thread elsewhere? It is worth debating, maybe, but just not here. Move thread is a common forum function, no?

bike without single point of failure

If it turns out to be any good, it will doubtless be declared unsporting &/or illegal. The downside is probably the extra weight, both of the shaft and the hub gears required (if you need gears). Puts a crimp in rear suspension options too.

    length of lockdown?

You missed the point.. The mask is to keep your cough and sneeze in, not to keep anyone else's emissions out.

    Advice on new ebike

Facebook hasn't been touched for nearly a year, and the UK website doesn't exist even for the 'more info' Facebook link. Yes the Chinese firm seems to still be there, but UK presence seems nil. Try the Co.UK links.. Looking them up at companies House, the UK importers that is, aka Chester...

    Stolen Kalkhoff Agattu 3B

Not this one? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kalkhoff-Agattu-electric-Bike/353136570916?hash=item5238947224:g:gHEAAOSw3JhfCd-D Since I assume it had battery when nicked.
