    Battery care and chainring size

Hello I am enjoying my mint condition used Cyclotricity Revolver which came with a 14 amp hour battery. I keep it locked up in a small brick built shed which is under a set of stone steps and I should think it is very cold in there on winter nights. I would ask is there any...

Cycloltricity Revolver and its front suspension forks

I have a Cyclotricity Revolver which I just purchased and it has ( as I expected) forks which are not very good and deliver a bang when going over bumps. Would it be possible to change these to something a bit better and not too expensive ? I think it would make quite a...

battery stuck on bike, any suggestions ?

Thank you. But would a locksmith be in a position to fit a replacement lock in an e bike ? Would the owner have to source that lock ? and are we talking much money for the locksmiths efforts if the machine was taken to them ?

battery stuck on bike, any suggestions ?

Thank you. That's very helpful. When you say opening the battery case I think the mechanism (the metal lever) just sits in a groove on the battery case. The lock seems to be in the cradle that the battery sits in How would that tab have sheared off ? Well I mean I realise no...

battery stuck on bike, any suggestions ?

Tha nk you Wicky, I haven't yet because I only just collected the bike today but I was wondering if pedelec members had any suggestions anyway. It seems to me that the locking mechanism must have not responded to the key at some stage and the owner probably tried to force it...

battery stuck on bike, any suggestions ?

I have just purchased a one year old very tidy Cyclotricity Revolver from a e bay private seller and all is well but the battery ( a 14 KWH one) wont unlock to remove the battery ( which works ) One of the keys is mangled and the lock mechanism ( which appears to be built into the battery holder...

IMPRESSIONS OF ELYSIUM RELAY OR ECO EXPEDITION BIKE

I am looking at these two bikes. The Eco Expedition seems good for the money with a 10 amp hour battery compared to the 7 am hour battery on the elysium which I think is on the 8 side of 7 anyway. The Expedition has 21 gears compared to 6 on the elysium and the Expedition...

electrical danger battery sound at fault ?

I have managed to get out now since the snow has gone and take some images and here is one of the clearly damaged battery connection. It looks bad and beyond repair although it has retained charge well and still reads as full...

electrical danger battery sound at fault ?

Firstly, absolutely and for certain I touched just one pin . I didnt get as far as putting a second one on any other pin because the instant almost blinding flash was enough to make me desist from further testing. The switch on the battery was off. I was outside in good light...

electrical danger battery sound at fault ?

UPDATE. purchased a multimeter, set it to fit within the voltage range checked battery switched off then touched just one of the 4 male pins on the battery and BANG FLASH another near nuclear explosion again. That battery is dangerously faulty and the incident blew a mm...

electrical danger battery sound at fault ?

there are 4 pins , how do I know in which configuration to touch them with the meter ? I agree the system is rubbish for regular battery removal The wires are encased in a outer cable that is so short its hard to do the regular removal etc without putting tension on that...

electrical danger battery sound at fault ?

Thabnk you, I will look in Argos and Halfords but I am concerned because if a proper connector caused fireworks what about the meter, wont one of those potentially provoke another ? Presumably the idea is to find out if in actuality there is charge at the external...

electrical danger battery sound at fault ?

Thank you no you are not sounding hard on me and I'm learning a lot But I have not rewired anything nor have I sted or suggested it in my posts. I have found shorting has occured when connecting the lead to the battery ( I mean fully assembled as it has been for 4 years )...

electrical danger battery sound at fault ?

The problem is though that the shorting occurred even when the battery was switched off. Even off the bike with the battery switched off for sure ( easy to see the switch when off the bike) it was when i tried to insert the 4 pin plug into the battery that there was the drama and...

electrical danger battery sound at fault ?

The bike was assembled in every sense when I purchased it, it is simply that the bike appears to have been shorting when connecting the 4 pin plug to the battery when the battery is switched off. After this burned the wire and blew the wire off the plug (inside it) I stripped the...

electrical danger battery sound at fault ?

I wonder what people might think about this . I purchased a 4 year olf Cyclotricity Revolver from ebay a few months ago for about 150 pounds and yesterday had it serviced and so spent about 80 pounds for new cassette, chain, bottom bracket . Today ( the servicing didnt touch the electrics and...
