    IS YOUR BATTERY RELIABLE ?

Definitely working on it...I can definitely say that the Chinese pay at least 40% less to ship their lithium batteries over to us compared to if we were to ship them to China.

    IS YOUR BATTERY RELIABLE ?

Just phoned DHL for clarity on this and they have said that they can set up an approved shipper account for me to start doing this. Looking at what DHL charged a bike shop in Germany when I got my spare 288wh battery, I think it's going to cost about £70 per battery for sending stuff to the EU...

Need some advice recovering some batteries

Ah - I already tried the ledhacks one - works OK with 0.10mm thick nickel but not 0.15mm thick nickel which is what most e bike batteries are made with. Copper electrodes don't work very well either. you need something a lot better like a chromium alloy or something. I need one with FETS and...

Good thread by d8veh here. There must be lots of packs like this which only need a few cells replacing.

    IS YOUR BATTERY RELIABLE ?

DHL will do it but they insist on DGSA certification and other things if you want to ship batteries which are over 100wH. This would fall under ADR for road transport with various limits imposed. This is because DHL are shipping batteries as their main business activity as a courier hence they...

    IS YOUR BATTERY RELIABLE ?

All we need now is a website and advertising. How to achieve this when trying to work full time at a busy hospital is going to be a challenge!

    IS YOUR BATTERY RELIABLE ?

I might contact our DGSA and see what they can sort out regarding advice. As for insurance that is probably going to be the nail in the coffin. Then again it might be possible but I don't think I can be arsed to hunt for the details.

and also exemptions for transporting dangerous goods as part of a retail distribution. So in that sense, delivering a re-celled battery to a customer would cover that I reckon.

    IS YOUR BATTERY RELIABLE ?

Reading a bit more into it the way I understand it is as follows: Lithium batteries are classed as dangerous goods so by that definition they would be covered under CDG regulations similar to when our contractors at our hospital take away clinical waste and chemicals for disposal...

Bosch Dongle...a delayed initial finding from Autopsy

This is interesting - I have the SX2 dongle and so far it has been on the bike since Feb 2013 performing very well. Last week I occasionally got a few error 102's on the HMI but I cleaned up the dongle and the socket and no further problems. Will be good to see if it a usable dongle can be made...

    IS YOUR BATTERY RELIABLE ?

Either way, they are making a very nice earner on them. And no doubt that the revised regs on transport of lithium batteries knocks out pretty much most people who might want to earn a bit by re-celling. The big corporations have the power - isn't capitalism wonderful...

    IS YOUR BATTERY RELIABLE ?

do you reckon its around 200% ? They have to pay Polish wages to assemble the battery packs though. Maybe it is not quite as high as that.

    IS YOUR BATTERY RELIABLE ?

But one of the main stumbling blocks if I was to actually get into doing this would be the method of getting the newly re-celled battery back to the customer in order to comply with the regulations on carriage of lithium batteries. A potential way round this would be to deliver the batteries...

Latest progress on cell upgrade for Bosch battery.

Seems to me like you have got it spot on flecc. I am also guessing that the BMS from the Chinese battery clone has cell balancing incorporated into it as well as the usual protection functions.

Latest progress on cell upgrade for Bosch battery.

I think you are correct re: the data logger. It is essentially pointless with regards to the overall functioning of the battery so I guess the factory in China haven't bothered with it.

Latest progress on cell upgrade for Bosch battery.

Just checked the charger with the voltmeter: There are three terminals on the charger. Whilst putting the red test probe on the centre terminal on the charger plug and the black probe on the terminal which goes into positive terminal on the battery the reading was 4.63V. When this was done on...
