A good thread that Peter. Learning points for new battery users: Use your bike /battery regularly Never leave the cells discharged and unused Don't store for long periods at full charge when not in use Balance charge battery when full charge is lower than expected Most battery problems come...

UK - legality of thumb-throttles in DIY conversions

Ha ha ha - snap. Now and then I catch sight of myself in a shop window and think, 'Who is that ridiculous old git? What happened to the aspiring Clint Eastwood of yesteryear? Even then, I was highly delusional...

Oh my God dear!! The damned dog has been sick in one of your white cereal bowls. At least he didn't do it on the carpet. What on earth has he been eating. The beast has been in Guerney's bin again. What a terrible neighbour he is. I wish we hadn't come here near that orange faced buffoon...

    Higher watts advantages?

That looks hard to make. This guy is running a light bulb with a nail, some wire a speaker and a magnet.... Fantastic. I'm calling my energy provider right now to cancel my supply contract. I have nails, wire, speaker and magnet. That should power my house easily.......

No! Fk Off!! :) Speaking of food, on my ride this morning, I breezed pasta little hostelry and got this for under £10 before heading off to Spadeadam Bombing range. Put some spine into me and I braved the Apache Heli firing range. Bacon and Egg Bap with passable coffee £9 and some pennies.

Actually, having tried Sauerkraut and Kimchi, and found them both pretty obnoxious, I might have to think again about whether such an act was friendly.... Hmmmm. :)

    Higher watts advantages?

Wouldn't it be great if we could extract that back emf with some diodes and use it. I've said before that when I was 11 or 12 years old and we dd something about motors, dynamos and back emf, in physics I had the great idea of a perpetual motion machine. Turns out most kids have the same idea...

Why do you think this is 'telling you what to do?' He begins with a conditional clause -'If you believe he has'. Then he politely invites you to provide a link - 'please do point it out and provide links to substantiate.'

Ha ha ha - what jolly japes..... For what it's worth, I disagree with Mr Ed, about the friendliness of the forum towards newcomers. Frankly - it is a ridiculous statement to suggest that newcomers are arrogantly dismissed. On the contrary, what I see are expert people like NielS and...

UK - legality of thumb-throttles in DIY conversions

I don't generally need a throttle and have disabled mine in the bbs01 firmware data settings, but about an hour ago, while on a fun ecploration, i was climbing the cycle route 72 out of Greenhead and coming off the road to the start of an off road paved cycle way on a VERY steep climb, there was...

Just agreed to by a second hand bike

I guess the more usual interpretation of what he said would be that disc brakes were on his list of ideal qualities but that other kinds of brakes were on the bike.

There is something strange about this person. If you look at their posts, almost all of them are argumentative, unpleasant, aggravating arguments. Some people have personality disorders, one of which has these characteristics -...

Help! New and in need of help.

Do what Saneagle said - try disconnecting the throttle. You should be able to follow the throttle wire to a plug and pull it apart. I think I can maybe see what he is thinking - if the bike has a unlimited speed throttle which is faulty (some kit bikes certainly do have that kind of throttle)...

Help! New and in need of help.

This sounds a crazy problem. I am wondering about an intermittent sensor fault caused by loose or dirty cable junctions / plugs, or a corrupted, or defective controller. I am deducing this not from serious e-bike wrenching experience like NielS and Saneagle have, but just the general experience...

    Converting a little folder

Thanks Waspy... If I had not bought a cheap tool, the problem I had would probably never have happened. I had a similar problem with a nasty universal wiper arm puller when my old car's wiper mechanism fell apart. The bloody Knob which tightened the arm broke loose under my hand tightening and I...
