Sincerely sorry to hear about the first part. The Adrenalin business has been forced to close due to three robberies in relatively quick succession. The last one involved their security guard being hospitalised and the side of their building being caved in with repair costs in excess of £100,000. Nathan who owned the business is an excellent businessman and very honourable, he will certainly be starting another ebike related business when everything has been sorted out.
We wish him all the best.
David
Good for him if he does however the cynic in me together with experience tells me that they are unlikely to be paid.I'm not so certain, I think Nathan will probably be talking to creditors.
the liquidators help themselves first, then the bank, then HMRC, then staff before the creditors have a look in. That's why I am a bit worried selling to the shops. Title retention cuts nothing with the liquidators.Good for him if he does however the cynic in me together with experience tells me that they are unlikely to be paid.
True however you'll find that HMRC are further down the list than they used to be. That'll change back again to a certain extent following spreadsheet Phils budget on Monday.the liquidators help themselves first, then the bank, then HMRC, then staff before the creditors have a look in. That's why I am a bit worried selling to the shops. Title retention cuts nothing with the liquidators.
Hi Wander, thanks for asking. I liquidated Wisper Bikes Limited four years ago when we merged with FreeGo, anyone that was owed any money was paid, although it should be said that we didn't really owe any money as we pay upfront for all our bikes before they are landed in the UK. In the last few years we have dealt with two bike retail companies that have been put into liquidation in both instances we got our bikes back. You would be surprised at how many companies are paid outside voluntary liquidations.Good for him if he does however the cynic in me together with experience tells me that they are unlikely to be paid.
Did you pay off all the creditors when one of your previous businesses went into liquidation?
Genuinely pleased you got your bikes back.Hi Wander, thanks for asking. Really sorry to hear that, As a customer I was really happy with the extremely helpful service an expert advice I received from Nathan. The Adrenalin business has been forced to close due to three robberies in relatively quick succession. The last one involved their security guard being hospitalised and the side of their building being caved in with repair costs in excess of £100,000. Actually it was a voluntary liquidation.Genuinely pleased you got your bikes back.
Regarding paying off creditors I was thinking more about the company which went into liquidation in 2008. That one wasn't a voluntary liquidation.
Actually in fact it was a compulsory liquidation according to the public record:-Actually it was a voluntary liquidation.
I think this is getting a little personal Wander. What has this got to do with the ebike market, or Adrenaline TV? As you seem so interested in my past, maybe you would like to call me on 07733226906 I would be happy to answer any questions you may have.
I closed my exhibition company for many reasons outside my control. Mainly because all our products were copied by a competitor using a company in China in 2005. But every cloud has a silver lining. It was on my trip to China to confront these plagiarists that I first saw an electric bike. The freind I was with (Douglas Gosling) already owned one (a Yamaha) and Wisper was borne!
As you are so interested in my past business and private life, I am sure that you will be delighted to know that my wife and I sold our house to pay off many of our company’s creditors. We personally paid them well over £100,000. I had conversations and made arrangements with almost everyone that was affected.
All the best, David
Wouldn't bother wasting any effort. You've really got no chance with that! Company wasn't dormant and the winding up order was made on a petition to the High Court. No mention at all of any members nor creditors voluntary liquidation, nor directors appointing anyone.I don't understand why the records talk about a compulsory liquidation though... it wasn't. We instructed a liquidator to look after the winding up so it was voluntary. I will make contact and find out what went wrong. Maybe it was a dormant company. Thanks for pointing it out though, I will make sure that the records are corrected.
