These stands are very good and will hold bikes up to 30 Kg. Get in there early, people tend to buy them up to re-sell on eBay.

I would second that Tillson, they are excellent value for money.

Last time they were on sale at my local store, they were sold out within an hour of opening.

I bought 2, one for myself and another for a friend who hasn't taken it out of the box yet:rolleyes:

Thanks for the heads up. Was there at 8:15 this morning, not many customers at that time but one of them was also buying the workstand.

A stand is a real plus for maintenance. I started off with something like that.

I often put it in the stand to wash it!

There was also a very large pile of these bike stands in my local Lidl at 08.45 this morning. I bought one a year ago and it works very well with my Agattu.

I was at Lidl this morning to pickup a wireless cyclometer: Crivit £7.99. I bought one of these a year ago, and it compared very well with my gps, and was quickly responsive to speed changes. Unfortunately when I was in the middle of a measurement the display unit, feel off the bike, and I did not realise it for someway, and then I did not wont to break the measurement ride and go back to look for it. Stupidly, I had temporarily taped the display onto the bike because I did not have space to use the handlebar clamp. I won't make that mistake twice.

A bit later last year, when I saw another advertised in Lidl, I bought it - it was a wired one. Although also a Crivit one it did not work nearly as well as the wireless version. It seemed to average the speed over several seconds. I like to accelerate to 10 -12mph and then hold the speed fairly steady. The wired one was no good to indicate accurately the point when you just reach the required speed. Also the wired pickup seemed to be much more tricky to setup.

Yep if you have room to store one a stand is a must have IMHO. Much less hassle than getting on hands and knees to work on bike and as you say great for washing as well.

I may pop into LIDL to see what these are like as there are times when a second one would be useful.

I now use the very nice Park Tools PCS10. Not cheap but very substantial and good quality fittings/jaws and smooth 360 degree movement.

My cheaper ebay purchased one, has been recyled for washing bikes.

Jerry.

picked one up this morning. Got there at 8.30 and sign was up but no stands. Thought they had all gone, but when I asked , they had not yet been put out. Looks good enough quality for tyhe amount of times I am likely to use it

Went into Lidl about 5.30pm and they had plenty left. Certainly looks pretty substantial and the box was fairly heavy to carry. Will try bike on it over the weekend. Thanks for the nod. :)

Ditto but I have to say after purchasing one of the Lidl stands today (I often have a couple of bike repairs on the go at once) I now think the Park is way overpriced for what it is. The Lidle one truly is excellent - it's be good value at £90, nevermind £30! I love the handlebar steady especially! You can certainly tell it's a German product.
