Agreed.

As a newbie to this forum I decided that the initial urge to buy an eBike ('this week') to try out this mode of transport should be moderated to a 'read and learn excersize' over at least a few months (till the spring maybe!)

So I was delving in to this thread from time to time every few days , what a surprise to see the review suddenly pop up in "classified"
Would anyone like to translate it and put it into context, and/or punctuated speelchucked english !?
What do you want to know about it. Everything is common or garden Chinese stuff, the same as many bikes in this price range and dearer. You can get all the electruical stuff from China very cheaply in the event of a disaster. Nearly all bikes, no matter how much you pay, can have random problems, which would be sorted out under warranty. Woosh are an active member of this forum, so you can be sure of the best service and support.

Riding the bike will be the same as any other bike with this motor: smooth and quiet, but a little choppy from the front forks. If you want more comfort at the front, you can always upgrade the forks, which is no more work than fixing a puncture. The gearing, some will find a little low; comfortable up to about 15mph, but you'll be free-wheeling down hills helped by the very free motor.

I can't see hill-climbing being a strong point. If you're less than 75kg, it'll be good, but by the time you get to 100kg, it'll struggle on hills; however, it's easy to upgrade or modify the controller very cheaply to get much better climbing ability, so that wouldn't worry me. The 15aH battery will be able to supply the extra power, which most 10aH batteries can't. You'll get an all-round average range over average terrain of about 45 - 50 miles.

The back light is excellent -just like a motorbike. The front one is OK to be seen by, but not quite enough for unlit roads. Cars won't dip for you, so you need to get one of those Cree t6 lights off ebay for about £25.

Summary: The bike has mudguards lights and rack - everything you need for commuting. It's very cheap for one with 15aH battery and easily tweakable for more power. Now you've got no excuse not to treat yourself to one for Xmas.

When I saw the spec on this bike, the thing that stood out for me was the 15aH battery. The review made it quite clear, ' battery dead as a dodo', which killed it for me. One would expect that even a new battery would have a partial charge, none at all, one would have to suspect the batteries durability.

Woosh bikes go through a PDI before dispatch, so it may of had something to do with inserting and rotating the key ?

Maybe someone tested the bike to make sure it was OK before boxing it up and forgot to switch it off. By the time the box arrived at Geostorm's, the battery would be flat. He didn't say that it was knackered.

lMust admit, as a prospective purchaser of said bike, I'm a little disappointed having waited around for this review. I still have lots of questions.
Why was battery flat?
Is gearing ok or is it under geared?
what sort of realistic range will I get?
what was test ride route so I can view on map?
Is pedelec power applied smoothly or have long lag?
Do lights illuminate an unlit road well enough to see or just enough light to be seen?
Is rear light AA battery or off motive power battery?
Etc, .............

sorry to dissapoint some of you with review , i could only tell it as it was and owing to weather conditions during 8 days had bike
.
In reply to the Colonels request................ battery flat owing to not being charged up
Gearing could be uprated by fitting larger chainring
not sure range and reluctant to comment as it depends on weight and pedal power of individual
test route Gillingham Kent to lower rainham, wigmore. hempstead,
pedalec power i did say responsive and liked
lights work of battery and i would say average
comes fully equipped with guards lights rear carrier, charger has no charging light
hoping this helps

Hi Colonel

Sorry, agree that the review does seem short but understandably lies outside our control.
A quick couple of things however:
Firstly, the bike was brand new.
Secondly, our bikes arrive with the battery only partly charged.
We did not want to prepare the bike in a special way, eg by fully charging the battery for example, since we wanted it to be a bike in a condition that a customer would typically receive. Normally there are around 10 miles on the battery when it leaves us but in our manual we do state that the bike should be fully charged (eg overnight) before the initial ride.
I am surprised if it was completely flat as we have never had reports of this before.
