Hi Dave,
The controller you have there for that model of bike should be an “LSW947-9-3”. See below for what the various leads are for.
Thicker green, blue, yellow cables to motor
Red/blue/green/yellow/black – to motor (hall sensor)
Thicker red and black cables to battery
Red/green/black with large white connector to twist-grip
Red/blue/black to pedelec sensor
2x Black/grey – brake cut-outs
Red/grey – not used
Red/black – not used
Black/green AND Blue/red to control panel (790 unit on the handlebars)
Once you take the red/grey and the red/black leads out of the equation, the rest of the leads should only be able to fit in their proper place. As mentioned above the red/grey and red/black leads are not used.
Regards, Andy.

This is the Aspen controller, you just match up the connectors and push them together. Leave the front light connector unconnected.
1) Start with the battery.
2) Connect the 790 LED panel.
Test that you can switch the LED panel on/off. Leave it off
3) Connect the motor phase wires and Hall wires
4) Connect the throttle
5) Test that the motor spins up
6) Connect the brake sensors. Test that the brake sensors cut the motor's power
7) Connect the pedal sensor. Test
