Priced to sell! Looks in immaculate condition too, someone is sure to get a bargain... only used for 4 months, I wonder why he is selling. Damn that's a big battery though for 10Ah, mine is half that size!

The reason of selling is that the owner due to the distance of the daily commute has gone over to the dark side :D

As proved by myself, d8veh and others... at their retail list prices, Woosh bikes offer very good value for money so this may well be the sale of the century for someone.

Another point arises though..

Its another sale that's ******* collection only !!!!!

Don't sellers get the point that by buying a roll of bubble wrap and bothering to look on ebay for a bike delivery courier (which ends up costing the seller nothing, cos the buyer bays) they then open up the sale to umpteen times more bidders and thus get a much better selling price... Collect only = Muppet

Erm.....How about recieving an item damaged in transit, then buyer takes out a dispute with ebay against the seller asking for money back. far easier to meet face to face and iron out any issues then. most resonable sellers will comply with a request to post but it is then at buyers risk...

Good points...

Reduce the risk by

1. Taking loads of pictures
2. Wrap / Pack with loads of bubble wrap

And best of all..
3. Let the buyer arrange the courier

They never seem to learn. That's the biggest limiter of selling price on eBay, I've seen so many good bikes go for a song due to that.

And buyers should be more clued up on the courier options for bikes.. there are low-cost carrier options (see ParcelMonkey.com) starting from just £15 door to door 48 hrs. There's even specialist couriers advertising on eBay who transport bikes for £20-£25. Most sellers are happy to allow a courier collection if you ask them, and many won't mind packaging a bike if you bung them a few extra quid.

And if you need a box, just phone around a few local bike shops they usually give them for free. Of the few carriers that will carry bikes (Parcel Force, CityLink being two), they won't insure unless the bike is in a box or the frame is covered by bubble wrap AND cardboard.

In an auction format/private sale the buyer has far less recourse if anything goes wrong, basically you can only complain if the bike is not as described. If it's damaged in transit that's between you and the courier (a good reason to make sure the bike meets the standards of packaging set by courier for insurance and you have adequate insurance cover). It's not the sellers responsibility though if the bike gets damaged in transit, even if it's due to poor packaging.. if the seller states "collection only" then he's covered against that and has transferred the risk to the buyer, it's being packaged/sent at the buyers own risk.

I just made a first bid to get it started. If I get it with that bid, I'll give it to whoever can plead a decent case, but I think it's going to go a lot higher. I'll guess to £400. Lets have some more guesses and see who gets closest.

There are people who can't be bothered with the hassle of selling and/or dispatching, and I'm one of them. I frequently just give things away rather than have the bother of selling them.

My guess is £320, but I don't want the bike.

I will say because it's only four months old, if he had put delivery options or courier collection, then it should do 60-70% of retail price so..£370-400 ish... however, as he's put collection only that's going to really limit the market so I reckon he will get £270-£290 ish

That's very generous of you d8veh! I bet he will get some more bids though even if it's only local.

I've just changed my mind. If I win it, I'll donate it to Eddieo, because I don't think that he's tried one yet. If he doesn't like it, he can always sell it on, but I think that he'll prefer to keep it.
I'm still the highest bidder, so keep hoping Eddieo!

I reckon 330.50 to a sniper :)

Our local Halfords have always helped me out with boxes & cardboard for stuff I've sold on ebay.

Oh no! Calamity. Someone who's name that begins with E and ends in O has out-bid me. If only he had read this thread first, he would've seen that he didn't need to bid. Oh well, I hope he enjoys his new bike.
