I'd really interested in the Woosh Big Bear as my first electric bike.

However, I'm from Manchester and therefore unable to get down to the Cambridge store to test ride the bike. I have messaged Hatti and unfortunately there are no registered demonstrators in the area.

My main concern is that I am 5'5" tall and the Bears 20" frame is a little daunting. I'd really love to at least have a look at the Big Bear in the flesh and possibly have a go if possible.

If anyone could help I would be very grateful!

For riders 5ft8 and above
I had a bike that was just a little to big for me, I played with saddle height and position,
I Changed the handlebars several times along with the bar risers.
It took a long while to get something that felt OK, that was untilll I road a bike that fitted me, what a difference ! I now know just how important getting the correct size is.
In short ( no pun intended ) don't do it, your way under there minimum height for the bike and you'll live to regret it.

The handlebars are easily adjusted, the saddle post can be replaced with an unprung post.
The main difficulty is to clear the rack battery with your leg swing.
You can probably ride it - 20" frame isn't huge but I think the Big Bear may feel heavy and too big too.

That's what I'm worried about. That it is too big to be comfortable to use often.

I'm not worried about swinging my leg over... I'm 22 with plenty of mobility.

When speaking to Hatti she informed me from the floor to top of the frame near the handlebars it's 33" and slopes away from there. My dad has a flat bar 23" bike. From floor to top of the bar it's 32". I can stand over that flat footed at either side.

EverytimeI stop I may have to hop off the seat... But I've had non electric bikes in the past that I've had to do that for.

Will send a message over to the member in Yorkshire.

Thanks for your replies.

the Kudos Tornado has BPM motor too:

the cheaper Woosh Sport TS also has quite decent pull. Both have 18" frames, so no height issue:

The Woosh TS Sport is a lovely bike to ride. Its control system gives the nicest power algorithm out of any bike I've ever tried. It would be great for people that don't eat too many pies or pizzas, or who don't have any steep hills; however, It can't hold a light to the Big Bear when it comes to climbing

Similar experience here, so I'm with Gringo.

At the very least, don't buy one without trying it.

Even that's not foolproof - it took me a few months to conclude the bike I had was just a little too big.

Ha ha! I may be partial to an odd pie!

Well actually I went to test drive a couple of Juicy bikes today, turns out I live half an hour away from the warehouse!

I was so impressed with them! Rode the Sport it seemed very powerful, responsive and took the hills in its stride. Made them so easy and passing the postman who had to push his regular bike up a hill was very satisfying! The guy at Juicy said they couldn't survive in the Peak District if the bikes couldn't make it up a hill ha ha. Anyone have any opinion of them?

In fact I feel pretty much sold on them! My fiancé is now considering getting himself one too!

I still am interested in the bear though... The reviews on Woosh are so good it's my only reservation.

I'm glad you've tried some and had a positive experience.
If you buy a bike by mail order from Woosh and you are not happy they will give a full refund if it is returned within 14 days:

(BTW, has anyone seen Hatti on here recently? She used to post quite regularly.)
