Women & mobiles????????

Hi All. Just a thought sat here with a glass of wine but just thingking where the hell would Moble phone technology be without women !!!!!!! ( not all but young ones) I'm sat here watching and one man answered his phone and rung off afterthought 10secs but there are at leased 10 lady's on the phone and have been on them the whole time they have been in here and it doesn't matter if their eating or drinking they are glued to their ears ???? and as soon as they put them down another women phones them or they phone one.God almighty what can they find to talk about??????? End of rant.

Watched one yesterday while i was out for a walk in pleasant countryside. He was on the phone continuously for over ten minutes walking along, then when he rang off he was still studying it and tapping on it, texting, game? Throughout his head was down and seeing nothing, so his country walk was pointless, other than disturbing the peace for others with his over-loud chatter.

Yes it is so sad to see them glued to there ears but saying that i would hate to be without mine but then i only use about £10 every three months not exactly big time

Exactly??? We should be supplied with Zappers to kill the phones???? Take notice girls (and boys) if you have nothing to say (difficult I know) put the dam thing down & turn it off & give other people consideration???? I know it's difficult but try??.

If it were possible to un-invent something, the mobile phone would be top of my list and by a long way. We all managed perfectly well before they arrived on the planet. I really cannot understand how anyone would want to walk while speaking on a phone, especially inside stores, pubs and shops.

Ultimately, I expect they will be banned in certain streets and certain shops, perhaps by signal jamming. We stopped smoking in many public places and I'm sure the mobile phone will bring about a similar change in society.

I really cannot understand how anyone would want to walk while speaking on a phone, especially inside stores, pubs and shops.

I see this as a parallel with eating and drinking while walking, something else today's generations seem to find necessary, though in this case it's an American import. The concept of going from one meal to the next without eating seems to be unknown to them. Mobiles or eating, their mouth parts apparently have to be in perpetual motion.

Whatever happened to the famed British stiff upper lip?

Hands up those who want to go back to smelly telephone boxes , I certainly don`t . In the 1960`s at work we couldn`t make personal calls at work , but the Steelworks did have a red telephone box . Unfortunately you could never get in it ,as it was always in use by bookies` runners placing bets . Then out on the road if you could find one that worked did you have the correct change ? I don`t use my mobile much, but it`s very handy to carry for emergencies on my E bike , Motorcycles and Car . At first I stubbornly resisted having one long after everyone else .What an old fool I was !

I've got one too, but I don't think we are criticising mobiles. It's their excessive and inappropriate use that offends. Moderation in all things is desirable.

Well...maybe its because women know how to talk and chat steve...........unlike most men
And maybe we have more friends we simply MUST keep in touch with at ALL times .......very handy in shops to send pics of a dress/shoes/eye shadow say, to a friend for her opinion........
and maybe we are just more friendly, sociable and interactive.......I LOVE my phone and never move without it.

Seriously, a mobile phone saved my daughters life after a nasty car accident off a bridge......if I hadnt been in the habit of always having my phone on and by my bed I would have lost her.....
As far as I am concerned if you have one it should always be switched on and available......just in case......best invention of the century for me personally.

I think I might be in a minority here, but I feel naked if I haven't got my mobile about my person, it is such a usefull multifuctional device

My wife on the other hand tends to have hers switched off these days or buried in the bottom of her handbag which is equally useless if someone needs to contact her............is she trying to tell me something

I do think she may have suffered mobile overload in the past, when she was working she carried 2 mobiles at all times and was contactable 24/7

Going off thread, what the hell is in those huge handbags that women drag around with them? Waiting for the answer Lynda

I spend most of my working day searching lady's handbags and some are neat & spotless but the vast majority you wouldn't want to put your hands in as they are disgusting???.

Anyway, thats a very personal question......and I have LOADS of bags.....I dont know if you would have the stamina to go through the list of the amazing magical things I carry around on my person.

Mind you, it would make interesting reading ...... I have different bags for different purposes

I'm with Lynda on this. A different bag for each different purpose - why carry more than you need to? Eg, if going to Sizergh only need NT card and enough dosh for an ice-cream - will fit in camera bag. All-day walk will require sarnies and Kia-Ora, and camera.
