I am about to start a new job 15 miles away from were I live, 5 miles city ridding and 10 miles country roads and lanes, its shift work 24/7 so night and winter ridding and a minimum of 30 miles round trip a day in all weather conditions. I live in Norfolk so no step hills to worry about.
My ebike wasn’t up to the challenge in its condition,http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/electric-bicycles/1664-modded-sprint.html so it was time for an upgrade.
All the electrics except for the motor needed to be upgraded and repositioned on the bike,

first a new Battery was needed went for a Ping 48volt 12amp (EBay), a new controller an Ecrazyman (EBay) 600watt 48volt 30amp, Halogen twin Head lights 5Volt 10watt and 5volt 5watt wired into the main battery(EBay s/h).
The seating position is very comfy with my best seat but not good for wind resistance, so set up some drop handle bars fitted for a more aerodynamic position with a pressure cut off switch to cut the motor, Used Fleccs cruse control Mod to hold the throttle open at whatever position its set at. Plus a rear mirror Speedo and bell. Plus a new Bulldog D lock and armed cable, a descent tool kit, puncture repair and pump, which fit in the battery bag. A basic AA battery rear light at the moment but will be making a new rear light soon which will run off the main battery
It weighs 28kg has a top speed of 27mph, avg speed over the 30 miles of 20mph.
Good toque , with a range of est 40 to 45 miles.

Nice revision of your original fast setup Andy, the single battery especially, adding long range to high performance. You could probably frighten some mopeds with it. :)

Nice one, Andy - the ultimate long-range, high speed cruiser of e-bikes! Looks pretty decent as well.

Andy or Flecc, what is the cruise control modification? I'm intrigued; I've been looking for something to do that for a while and had missed this.

There’s a grub screw that holds the throttle onto the handlebars if you loosen that off and push the throttle assembly tight onto the bars then do the grub screw up, the throttle should stay in the same position, the return spring is a little to strong for this mod to work on my bike so used the cut off end of a tie rap between the moving rubber part and the solid metal part of the throttle and that works fine. Basically friction overcoming spring strength.

It's just my split twistgrip mod that I did originally for the Torq Frank, but if the handlebar sleeve section is left binding on the twisting section, the throttle can be held open in that position, a sort of crude cruise control.

That's an alternative binding method to Andy's, but the effect is that same.
