Yes, just you will need a 30 -40a controller and a good battery.

Those motors are more or less all the same. Why not buy one in a kit that includes a KT controller and LCD?

Depending on the KT controller/LCD, you might get more levels of pedal assist, with better granularity and response, except I don't know that the big direct drive motors are any fun to pedal around if they have fast windings.

I thought so - thanks - Since I am not having much luck with the yose rear I was clicking and thinking about a different front motor, however I have become accustom to the waterproof wiring.

you will need a 30 -40a controller
Why so many amps? A quick zoom on the controller pic shows a 15a sticker on it but there's no info about the controller amp, would a 500w DD not run well on 15a @ 36v? - I don't want to go over fast I just wanted the "extra" that the 350w front motor had but to actually find a 350w front hub geared motor is near impossible unless I go back to dillenger and get a battery included but due to the last dillenger only making 3500 miles before failing I am a bit reluctant to go back, the only other 350w front also from Australia comes with a battery for around £250 ebay "may not post to the UK" or it's aliexpress for a 48V 350w £120-140, 36v 350w £125+68 P&P or Bafang 350w 36v front free P&P £199.00

The 15a controller is likiely for the out of stock 250w, others will most likely be 20/25a. 30- 40a will give the D/D more grunt for those hills, being gearless they tend to suffer with lack of power if amps are to little.
Also do you really want a 5.5 -6kg hub on a front wheel, I found the Bafang BPM a bit of a beast on the front which was 4.4kg.

5.5 -6kg hub on a front wheel
Good point - This is the start of my research into DD I had not considered weight, a part from seeing the odd old ebike with a DD front I haven't had anything tangible as of yet.

I really do like the look of the Bafang 350w but coming direct out of China will hit me for UK customs, VAT and misc charges from Royal Mail or the original courier.

Have a look at the Bafang bpm that Woosh does. Geared front hub with plenty of hill climbing grunt that will not eat batteries like a DD.

I have the BPM kit and the hub is 4.4kg as mentioned, it puts down lots of power and is high torque. The ride/drive from the front wheel can take you a bit by surprise due to it's power, a rear hub is a more relaxing comfortable/controllable experience.

My vote for a 350 watt geared motor is the q100, although that's just because it's the only one I've owned. It's reasonably cheap from bmsbattery.com (though they'll hit you with hefty shipping charges), and comes in front and rear versions, with the rear being for freewheel or cassette.

I have never looked at the q100, heard a lot about it though... As Nealh states the weight on these DD will be a problem, I only asked the original question because If ordered from ebay I would hopefully avoid any nasty VAT etc charges but as of yesterday the YOSE 350w rear in sliver seems to be going ok slightly noisier that expected but the third motor seem to be as smooth as I would like it to be... If i do go back to front hub I will most likely save up and get the BaFang branded 350w from Aliexpress and pay the extra charges if need be
