Mike....that would be a massive problem...I assume you mean with a lithium battery fitted....if you google 'lithium batteries, airfreight' you will see all the problems, especially since that battery fire blew a hole in the side of a freight jet.
There are special labels and packaging requirents to transport lithium batteries (above laptop size),if you get the labelling wrong the CAA can fine you Euro 20,000.
It is making us very nervous about sending ebikes by courier export, because sometimes if the road trunker is not busy and the airfreight is light, they transfer road to air.
My advice...forget it...its not worth the hassle.

...cheers Dave...it's forgotten.

I'm paying over £150 a year to hire a pedal bike in Majorca and Kos and after being used to riding an electric bike at home, I find that useing an unassisted bike when I'm on holiday, very hard going.

...so I thought ... what a good idea....but obviously not :)

....thanks....Mike

If you know exactly where you are staying, would it be costly to courier your ebike the week before say to the hotel or wherever? and send it back just before you leave. By road freight obviously.

Or, courier just the battery out by road freight and take your bike with you (minus battery) by air.

Probably someone will spell out the obvious pitfalls to the above suggestions. Not thinking straight today :)
