You make a huge register of people that are competent to fix bikes/ebikes.
We have a vestigial though inadequate example of this onsite, members name dealers who have given good e-bike service and they get put on our Dealer Map. Little used though.

while looking at some trek bikes on another thread I came across this Raleigh Velo city at £1199 (sure you would get it cheaper) this is not the normal derby cycles crankdrive but a hub drive. I have no idea what they are like......but it might fit the bill and they are certainly very good quality bikes

Welcome To The Bike Factory Chester. | Raleigh Velo-cite Womens Electric

here is a review of gents model from our favourite e bike magazine!

Mike-we all want your business
That appears to be right as long as the customer buys what the dealer wants to sell.

I contacted a dealer, who's website shows thousands of bikes and what must have been a hundred ebikes,
I wanted to look at a Kudos Eco.
The answer was "NO" we'd only get it as a firm order.....we can show you this model or that model.
The guy new I was a genuine customer...I'd told him that I was making a 200 mile round trip.
....would I do that if I were not serious

Mike....I am sympathetic to both the dealers situation and the customers wishes. In an ideal world every Kudos dealer would have every bike in stock but this e-bike business is just not big enough to make that possible. Moving these bikes around is expensive and any movement risks damage. Before I started the e-bike business I rang around 7 e-bike dealers in a 50 mile radius of my warehouse and not one had any stock either to view or demo. The dealer you made contact with had a Kudos Sport and Kudos King model in stock plus several others to make comparisons, thats probably about the best you are going to get from any dealer,Kudos or otherwise. It is frustrating that I have over 40 Kudos Eco bikes in stock. However from the info you have given to me I think the King model is probably more suitable.
Because of the foregoing I have tried to get a National Electric Bike Show going with a test riding area-the Cycle Show at the NEC had exactly that facility but won't happen until next October. We are supporting our dealers with TRY-AN-EBIKE days when they request it-Atmosphere bikes in Bristol has such a show in June and there is an Electric Bike Rally in Great Yarmouth in May,also the National Motorhome Show in Peterborough in April-full details on our website. Regrettably the industry just is not mature enough to have full stocks of every bike in every location.

...how can you say that Dave.......all along I've said that the only thing written in stone is that it has to be
a step through.
...I've got an electric bike...it's an Urban mover U Sprite, similar to your King I imagine,

...It's little more than 12 months old...runs as sweet as a nut, but I had an accident and I "think" I would be safer on a step through.

I see no point in buying another crossbar, I might just as well stick with what I've got.

I've just spoken to a guy called Paul at Atmosphere...he was more helpful, says he's just sold an "Eco"
I suggested he buy another and before he sells it, ring me to come and have a look at it.
...I'd have thought that having just sold an Eco and with a customer interested in an Eco, that'd be a strong incentive to buy another Eco.
....but what do I know...I'm only a customer :)

.....cheers....Mike

Mike....if it has to be a step thro then that means the Liberty,Eco or the new Safari. I spoke to Atmosphere and they have never sold an Eco-don't forget there are about 4 different suppliers all using the name Eco so he may be getting confused.
If you pick a dealer who you wish to travel to I will arrange for an Eco to be sent to that dealer.
Please understand it is more important that I satisfy you as a customer rather than sell you a bike, although obviously I would like to achieve both. Have you a Freego or Wisper dealer near you that would let you try a step thro style of bike just to see whether that style is to your liking.

Short sighted. I've a large cycle dealer near me, nice people, happy to work on e-bikes, very large place with hundreds of bikes on show. Occasionally buried amongst them was one e-bike, and they said not much interest, only sell about one a year. They couldn't see that if they had a range of e-bikes prominently on show that they'd sell many more. Eventually an e-bike dealer named CyclingMadeEasy started up not far away and made a success of it, proving the point.

Mike....Wisper have a dealer near you....Edinburgh Bicycle Coop,140 Woodland Lane,Chapel Allerton,Leeds,LS7 4QG...tel 0113 268 7463. Assuming they have a step thro stle of bike that would save you a long journey just to ascertain whether a step thro is to your liking.
Hope that helps

China must be quite an experience for the senses, would love to go there, seen clips on u tube, the roads seem suicidal with all the bikes/mopeds etc.Do you lay down what you want them to supply you with or do you by off the shelf?

Hi Mike, you seem to be getting a brawl of of advice here so I will not add to the confusion. As Kudos Dave says Edinburgh Co-op shops do stock Wispers they only stock 905 and 705se bikes at the moment.

And sorry no fire sale Indalo!

All the best

Avron,
When I first went to China I was excited about the experience but I must say near the eastern seeboard is not the most attractive country, out in the west towards Mongolia and Tibet looks stunning and real China but I have no reason to venture there. Shanghai,Suzhou,Ningbo etc all remind me of big German cities like Essen and Cologne but with chinese characters and neon added unfortunately old china seems to have been buried by skyscrapers.
When you cross the road thousands cross with you,the traffic largely goes in the correct direction except the odd bike which slips round the wrong way-it is legal at some roundabouts to take the last exit by cutting the corner instead of going right round the roundabout.
When I first imported the bikes I basically specified versions of off the shelf frames-Kudos seems to have settled on a Bafang motor,Nexus 8 hub and rack mounted LifePo4 battery for that is what our customers seem to like. But I am now investing in new frames to produce bikes based upon what I think will offer something a bit different-I suspect that the Kudos range will change somewhat from the current range over the next 18 months.
