which wire to use for new battery leads?

hi all have dolphin battery which connects to controller by Anderson terminals, another bottle battery which I am thinking I could use for a long journey (use bottle battery in its frame mount cable tied to rear rack)
but the bottle battery uses a din cb type connector do I need special wire for the + and - lead.

I have andersons but the wire needs to be thinnish to suit th

Use silicone awg wire as this is nice and flexible and doesn't crack. 14 or 16 awg will be more then ample, 14 can handle up to 60 amps max and 16 30 -35amps . 18awg will be too little with a max of 20amps so will also get warm quicker if put under load.

And do yourself a favour and put XT60 plugs everywhere - female ones on the battery ends and male on the controller.

thanks all have ordered some 16g awg silicone wire ,
don't want to remove andersons from dolphin battery it might affect warrenty.
whats the advantageof xt 60 over andersons.

Easy plugging and unplugging and you can't plug in the wrong way. The plug is on the wire not on the battery, wires are changeable parts so hardly under warranty.

That's a pretty accurate description of an Anderson Powerpole, which is what I suspect the OP is asking about.

I'd stick with Anderson's if I were you.
