which conversion kit should i get?

hi there i am thinking of getting a new kit for my bike and i need some advice,i was on a site called greenbike kit.com and they have a few different makes of kits they are,bafang,8fun,GBK 100F and GBK85F.which of these kits should i get?i am thinking of getting the GBK kit are they a good kit?if i buy a kit without a battery will any battery connect to my kit?and which battery should i get voltage wise?and which type of battery is best performance wise,bottle type,frog type,or the battery that goes on the carrier?thank you for your help

hi d8veh thanks for your reply.i wouldnt need to go too fast maybe 15mph.as for distance the further i could get on it the better.my budget would be bout 300 to 450 euros .im about 12 or 13 stone weight and there arent alot of hills around here just a few not very steep ones.the bike im converting is 28 inch hybrid,i already have an 8 fun kit on it but im having trouble finding the right replacement parts for it.

What replacement parts do you need? If you already have a kit, there's loads you can do to improve it without spending that much.

i need a new controller and a new charger.im finding it very hard to get a controller that is compatible with my kit,i have the 8fun 36v 250w pas kit without hall sensor,i found a controller that will work with the led meter but it will only work with a hall sensored motor.i found another controller that is sensorless compatible but wont work with the led meter.on my broken controller there are 5 round connectors.5 square connectors and one more big square connector.thanks for your help d8veh

What else do you need other than a charger and a controller please ?

I have pointed out where you can get both for less than 60quid delivered on your other thread ? Ie BMS battery, eBay, me or a combination of the above

BMS also do throttles for a couple of quid if that's also an issue

my understanding is your battery and motor are fine. Is that right ?

If you need both a controller and a charger, you can get them from BMSBattery. You can upgrade to a controller with LCD, like the S06P, or you can get the KU65 that comes with the control panel with three levels of PAS. There's also the KU63, which is cheaper, but only has one level of PAS (maximum). If you get the S06P, you have to order the LCD and the wheel-speed sensor as well.

ya my battery and throttle are fine,i was looking at a controller on bms but i dont think theres enough of the round connectors on it,theres only 3 and mine has 5.and the controllers that have all the connectors on that site are torque simulators so they wont work with the led panel

KU65 250W 6Mosfets Controller id gladly get this controller if it would work but on my controller there are 5 green connectors and on this one there are only 3,would that matter?

You don't have to worry about the colours of the wires. The functions are the same.

Even if they're the same,you have to check the colour sequence is the same. Sometimes you have to swap the pins over on the throttle or PAS.

my dad said he will figure out how to do it,hes good at things like that.i was just wondering what import dutie would i have to pay on the charger and controller i got? im in republic of ireland.also my dad wants a kit now,i saw one that came to 378 euros including delivery,what import duties would he have to pay for that?thanks again

I'm a disabled cyclist and had been looking for an electric trike for ages, contacted many of the UK distributors of e-bikes but with no luck. I was looking for something which didn't look like a delivery bike, was quite powerful in terms of motor and battery and would cope with the hills down here in Cornwall.
I just happened to latch on to an online chat with 50Cycles from Loughborough and the MD said that they happened to have one in the corner of their warehouse!!
To cut a long story short, the trike is a converted Kalkoff Agattu with the conversion having taken place in Norway by a company called Abu_Rehab who specialise in rehabilitation equipment for disabled people. They designed a fantastic conversion and have the parts manufactured in Japan. It does not look like a conversion with wires hanging around all over the place and utilises a top end e-bike as it's 'donor' bike. For me wanted a reliable machine as I couldn't afford to have a mechanical failure as I would be stuck but the conversions I had looked at in the UK looked as if they were a compromise - which of course any conversion is! If anything, it is very heavy and with me aboard, going downhill is somewhat of a challenge as it can be very fast therefore, whilst it has a mechanical disc brake on the back, I about to upgrade this to a hydraulic disc brake. Of course transporting the machine around is very difficult but on my next car I'm having a tow bar to which I'm going to fit a rack which will then spread my experiences further afield.
Abu_Rehab have a website which is worth looking at and I am happy to share a contact name there if you wish. I can also show you a couple of photos if you're interested too.
I have to say that I did an aweful lot of research into the subject and was beginning to think that what I wanted was not available. You have to be prepared to compromise a bit and to spend a bit of money on quality but am happy to help if I can offer any more of my experiences.
