Hi, not used the forum for a while, as not had an Ebike, but now in the position to purchase another one......I had an issue with the last one I bought, in that the battery was u/s, and a new one was hard to find........my question is, are there any models to avoid, when buying secondhand Ebikes ?, and what are considered the best one's to look for ?........any advice welcomed......

I think you answered your own question. In my opinion it is best to avoid closed proprietary systems with hard to replace parts.

If you're Ok with fixing stuff yourself, there are some very good ones on Amazon and Ebay with all standard parts for about £600. If you want a bike with warranty and dealer support, Woosh, Wisper, Juicy and Oxygen have all been around for a long time. Choose whichever one is available nearby, or get one from E-bikesdirect.

If you tell us what sort of bike you want and what you want it to do, you might get more specific advice.

If you're referring to your Batribike Granite, you can fit any battery to it, so batteries are available and not hard to find.

Here are a load of them:

Personally, I'd fit a downtube battery and put the controller in an under-saddle bag.

I sold the Granite to a chap that already had one, but later regretted parting with it......we live and learn I guess ??.......

Just something to go for gentle rides on......not on particularly rough terrain, and not very hilly.....but something that will go a fair distance between charging.......

That one that Az linked above looks pretty solid, and it has all standard parts - not bad for £800. You can get similar bikes from Amazon or Ebay a bit cheaper. This one is basically the same as that one except that it has mudguards and a rack, and is £200 cheaper. They were selling them on Amazon for £600, but all gone now. This looks like a new delivery coming in July:

There were some good deals on NCM bikes from Leon Cycles but most of the cheaper ones areout of stock now. Not sure if they will restock.
Fat bike still in stock at £899

yes, good quality bikes with 48v systems that make them more powerful than most.

As of today it is £262. 50.......at the end of the month it will be £375 00.....it goes up by £12.50 per day, so in another month it will be around £800.....I packed up smoking 21 days ago, and need a form of exercise as I don't walk very good, after two blood clot by-pass operations in legs........

There's also an M2 version available with 250w nominal 55NM 570w peak power motor, hydraulic brakes and 15Ah 36 v Hailong battery for £699 at geekbuying (a friend of my sister's had asked for a recommendation)
