Wheelies on an E-bike?

No, this is not about the size of the wheels, but about popping wheelies.

It occured to me after eying the Burisch Stealth bike, that as the center of gravity is over the rare tire, where it ought to be, wheelies should now be possible on this eMachine. Nothing extravagant, just the ability to bump the front wheel up on to the curb.

Of course I know most here are much too conservative with their machines to consider such frivolities. ;)

I even used to wheelie my Giant Lafree Twist off the mark, despite it's lowish power Panasonic unit. Having the drive through the gears and full power available at a standstill just by hard pedal pressure made it easy.

Not so easy with a hub motor bike, but my rear weight biased Q-bike with rear hub motor does a huge wheelie starting on a 1 in 5 or steeper uphill and is difficult to keep down unless I hang forward over the bars.

Won't work with a front hub motor though!

Some of you may have seen this. It has some Brompton BMX wheelie action...

BMXrompton - Velorution

Non-electric, though.

Oh Jesus, I really fear for some of the old timers hearts on here when they get a load of that clip!

Oh bloody hell, I'll start writing the eulogy's now!
Now then! I'm 76 and I love big wheelies, the nearer to flipping over the better!
