Brass sounds like a good idea.

I tried what you said but 1st the block was too thick. so narrowed it down to just 2 plastic strips. I couldnt get the nuts to fit in holes. so adjusted it more. all seemed ok wennt 300 yards on bike all power went obvious the fuse again. dont know why as throttle is wired ok. so fitted another fuse all fine again went 200 yards same again no power. so when i took battery out. the negative side had pushed through so thats why fuses went. I have atm gone back to original part as I have placed algamating tape round it which seems to hold it ok.Hi thats a good idea. I had thought of doing something like that. but was going to put a brass bolt opposite end to how yours show, put a nut between bolt and plastic so as not to damage plastic then use a grinding wheel. to flatten top of nut like a contact also add another nut where wire end is, if you follow what i mean so its nice and tight, as long as I can take wires off anytime if need be plus can unscrew middle still. as if I need at anytime to fit a new throttle or what ever
But I am going to try your way above see if I can do that. so it will still be ok for contacts to touch the ends of the bolt as you have indicated about, as I just assumed it had to be brass, but then i can use brass bolt and nut
Wow thats exact part but with a extra piece in the middle to make it stronger.. this is so kind of you much appreciated. I dont know if I have sent a private message to you ok. but it said something about conversation so i assume its right can you let me know if you have received the conversation then i will send my address. I am willing to pay you postageHi, Have been sorting out my shed and had an old battery holder which would have been like your but it was damaged beyond repair, so took the parts off that looked in good order. Billyboya, have your details will post it this weekend. Just glad I could help get you back on the road. You live in a beautiful part of the world for being out and about on your bike. Just goes to show my army training of taking things apart and keeping the good parts to use again if needed, or in my case even if you never use them.
Handy when someone has spares nice oneNice one Pete.I accompanied my friend to his first few Fab racing meetings, mini moto/pit bike racing. On one occasion we realised when we got there on the Friday his rear brake pads had worn down to the metal. No one at the track had a spare set.I spent the Friday evening whittling a set from a handle we found in the motorhome.Passed scrutenering on the Saturday morning, pushing the bike back to camp and someone who had just arrived asked if we had passed. We told them about the pads and they produced a set from there toolbox.

Yes I am also a bit of a hoarder. nuts bolts etc. take stuff apart for spares. I am extremely grateful for the part you are posting. even though I have made a part which is working fine. but best if i had the same part. it looks as if yours has a extra piece of plastic across the middle hole. I just hope battery will press down far enough to lock battery, as I have found if its too thick. it wont. so I may have to thin the middle part down a but but will see. What bike did it come of Pete my bike is called a Phillips. I think its by Raleigh. but thats the only name on bike no model numbers or anything. I was lucky to find 2 new batteries x12v. this is my bike below
