I have not been able to test the motor as you suggest as I haven't been able to short the blue & red together on the controller wiring for the display. I presume these wires are in the main cable that goes to the display. I have a single black cable with ten wires which comes from the controller. There is a plug at the controller end but no way of identifying which wire is which. At the display end of the main cable it splits off to the throttle, brakes & display.
Unfortunately I have now got a further problem. Now when I wheel the bike backwards I get a clicking noise from the motor hub. There is no noise going forward & the bike rides OK. As far as I can determine it is like a ratchet clicking inside the motor itself/ Any ideas?
I have enquired about a replacement controller but Haven't found one yet.
