No need for trouser protection, a cycle cape protects legs quite well even against slanting rain. See the photos and text on this website page for example. Those bikers in the past only used capes, with sou'westers on their heads, never any overtrousers, but they still arrived at work dry. With capes you also stay cool and well ventilated, not sweaty as with tighter waterproofs. Capes are dead easy to flip off too, much quicker than waterproof suit disrobing. Try one, they're cheap and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. But If I get a cape am I to go bare down under???
Need trousers.... Coats not a problem just no suitable trousers for cycling.......
