What ebike conversions have you got in the pipe line for 2020 ?

My plan if and when I can get around to it is to convert Swizzbee #1 to 48v, #1 has been problematic with the Sram hub gears and motor brush replacement. Though it works I have #2 which is in excellent running order.
Two options in mind.
1. Replace the brushed behind the seat motor with a geared hub like a AKM 70/80 series model, for this I would have to visit my brother to see if it is possible to make a bespoke bracket to accept said motor and modify the LHS to accept the Gates belt drive.
2. Try the AKM 250W 48v 12a mid drive motor and lace my Shimano Alfine8 in to the existing rim, the lightweight mid drive Woosh spoke of might be a good option as it is lightweight. AKM has higher internal gearing (38:1) then the BBS01 (24:1)so should in theory ride better unassisted.
A self build 48v battery using 21700 cells can fit in the existing frame enclosure and only needs to cope with 12a draw, for this I could opt for Sam 50E 5000ma cell in 4p for a nice 20ah/960wh battery.
Existing cranks would likely be ok but Shimano SQ taper I also have, handle bar s would be swapped out for swept back wider like my Geoff's.

Sounds good. I think I should take a look at a mid-drive package.

I have a Carrera Subway and a Crossfire in prep for conversion. I have ordered a few Q75s to look at some folding bike options. I am also on the lookout for a road/gravel frameset for a ‘stealth conversion’ so I can keep up with the Bradleys and Geraints on the Sunday Club run. Going to be a busy few weeks!

With luck what we have will continue to work through 2020 and beyond ... no need for new conversions or new bikes.

When you like tinkering sometimes one just can not stop.
