What display to use ?

Hi

please help here if you can

I need a new display for my VG Lavin ebike. It has an 8fun rear wheel motor and the display is bust.
It has one lead from the display, a female 8 pin Juliet connector.

can you suggest a possible replacement or action I can do to get my bike back on the road

The 8 pin connector doesn't sound right for an LCD. Is that a harness that splits at the handlebars and goes to the LCD, brakes and throttle? Is there a 5 or 6 pin connector somewhere near the LCD?

Sure. Here is a photo of the offending item with connector.

If you can find one, it won't have the same connector. Are you sure that there isn't another connector between the LCD and the one you've shown? In 10 years of working on ebikes and being on this forum, I've never seen that connector on an LCD before, though it's very common on the controller end of the harness that goes up to the handlebars. You only need 5 pins for an LCD like that!.

Thanks for the comment. Yes I see other screens have 5 pins .... um...I am sure there is only one lead from the current screen and that has 8 pins. I have seen some with 8 pins so if I don’t go for one of them, what do you think these other pins are for ? In other words, what may not be working ? Any guess ... I have front and rear lights, brakes should cut the engine too.....
