What conversion kit should I buy ?

Hi there,

I would like to buy the cheapest conversation kit and the bicycle to do my first project. Why cheapest? just to play around. But based on experience the cheapest is not the best, what do you think?

Ebay is the best bet ?

Define cheap? What's your budget, height and weight? Perhaps a second hand, working ebike might be the best way to go for you.

The cheapest often have crappy control systems that only give full power when you pedal - on or off. It works, but for a little more, you can get a really nice control system, like this one that even includes the tools you need:

Have a look at his other kits too, but not the ones that say 500w or more. Don't think that the 500w ones will be better because they're more powerful.
