April 7, 200818 yr 1 week to go to week 16. Promised delivery date for the Pro-Connect and i think other Agattu frame sizes. In another thread 50cycles promised delivery customers of all frame sizes and types by week 16, http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/electric-bicycles/1667-49-cm-gents-frame-agattu.html#post21132 Though they has since advised me that week 16 is only the week Derby cycles are making the bikes. So I dont know what to think really. Is anyone else waiting for a delivery for this batch? Has anyone else contacted 50 cycles and what were they told by 50 cycles? It would be nice to have an official post here by 50cycles to clear up this issue if they are reading into the forum. PS Please lets not have a "whipping Horse" type thread situation against 50 cycles. I've learnt that its get everyone knowhere, FAST. I just want to know what happening thats all. Frustrated, though friendly Bob Edited April 7, 200818 yr by burncycle
April 7, 200818 yr Im going to 50c today to collect my Torq so i'll get it from the horses mouth! will post back tonight. P
April 7, 200818 yr Apparently everything is still on target for week 16 production so fingers crossed for delivery before the end of April.
April 7, 200818 yr Bob- I, and others were mucked about for a while on the Agattu diamond. The reality is you'll get to the brink of cancelling but you should hang in there- it's not worth switching horses now and at least we know now that the bikes get here in the end. Sorry , thats probably much too complacent for you at the moment;)
April 8, 200818 yr Author im not gonna cancel yet ! unless there's a delay of weeks. I just wanna know, thats all. Edited April 8, 200818 yr by burncycle

April 8, 200818 yr Author On a lighter note, this will be me and stokepa31 outside 50cycles if only the one Pro-Connect arrives next week in town !!! Enjoy. Bored with it all, and bored now ! Bob
April 9, 200818 yr Our contact at Kalkhoff has just informed us that "Production data of the Pro Connect = end of April" Which would mean at least one week's delay, possibly two weeks if he means week commencing 28 April. So, definitely not week 16 now, we're sorry to report.
April 9, 200818 yr dahons often change season to season and whilst i have not followed it closely enough to know how true delivery estimates have turned out to be alot of internet suppliers do flag up that stock wont arrive until june in some cases. the problem here as we have acknowledged before has been the raised expectation of earlier delivery at point of order. something else i have noticed with bikes from europe is that once the season supply has gone (sept-oct or so) it has gone until the new stock comes on stream a few weeks later. whilst frustrating it remains beyond dispute that when the product is finally on your driveway you will have a good product from all accounts of forum members to date.
April 9, 200818 yr (and dont no-one tell me to have patience) We wouldn't dream of it, we've all been huddled in our bunkers, shaking as we awaited the explosion. . Edited April 9, 200818 yr by flecc

So, definitely not week 16 now, we're sorry to report. Tim So that is that model. What about the others? My own concern is the 45cm step through for which I was led to believe manfg date was 30 March. I have seen or read nothing to the contrary on this forum. Can you not update us all who are waiting? David
April 9, 200818 yr It would be nice to see 50 cycles offer a 20% discount or something, as a gesture of goodwill to those awaiting delivery,it may influence future customers reading these posts to purchase from them.
April 9, 200818 yr It would be nice to see 50 cycles offer a 20% discount or something, as a gesture of goodwill to those awaiting delivery,it may influence future customers reading these posts to purchase from them. 2 chances of thar- slim and fat which is odd if you think about it:D More seriously this is the same sorry tale again. But 50C are not to blame, save that they're too ready to pass on Derby's messages without vqualifying them. Our experience is you'll get the bike in the end but don't count the days until it's actually at 50C in Loughborough.
April 9, 200818 yr I carnt agree. This is again a reflection on how 50cycles does its business with its customers. Not about supply. Its their tone and lack of remorse. I thinks they seem grandious. I think companies and manufacturer's and also the middle men should be a litte more in sink and not make promises they cannot keep? Do they not all talk to each other? Forcasting, demand, can they meet the demand? Nah, they are thinking of the money they may make on all sides and It seems to happen too much nowadays and everyone passes the buck I hope you all get your bike's very soon and by the sound of it, it will be worth waiting for But hey, not too long eh? Kindest Regards to all that wait, fingers crossed Mandy
April 10, 200818 yr its 33 hours since I initially started this thread and would have hoped that 50 cycles may have posted some sort of a thread to re-assure its backorder customers that its original post to promise its delivery in week 16 still held water. I think their silence speaks volumes. Frustrated and fedup. BobI did warn you ages ago..... nobody seemed to believe me at the time..
April 10, 200818 yr I’m getting very annoyed about these anti 50cycles threads. Most of the things that happened are out of control of 50cycles. People need to realize that the e-bike technology is still very young and that you are a pioneer. This is definition of a pioneer: • lead the way • break new ground • … If you don’t want to be a pioneer then wait a few years until this technology is ready and don’t complain about week 16, 17, 18 , 19 … Kind regards, Jo A very happy e-bike pioneer
April 10, 200818 yr I’m getting very annoyed Well said Joab, so am I. In fact I'm right on the edge of deciding to leave this forum, such is the idiocy of these postings. 50cycles aren't the manufacturer of the eZee batteries, they don't control Derby Cycles production or their announcements on production scheduling, they are criticised for hedging about deliveries, but attacked when they give a straight answer instead. There was a time when Britons were famed for two characteristics, fair play and not kicking a man when he's down. It seems that's no longer the case. .
April 10, 200818 yr ...In fact I'm right on the edge of deciding to leave this forum, such is the idiocy of these postings... I for one would be very sorry to see you leave, Flecc. The quality of the information that you make available to the rest of us here is invaluable. I will not put my head above the parapet on the current flame wars raging, although I am also waiting for my new Agattu. However, there is a lot of wasted energy going into some postings, and to no very good effect (IMHO). People with legitimate issues would be much better directed to addressing these in private with the relevant parties than airing them here?
April 10, 200818 yr Flecc, What ever happens Flecc, don't do that:eek: There won't be a forum without you:( The rest, As for the week numbers, it is only week 15, so can people just calm down until the end of next week at least. I can understand your impatience and excitement, but get real, we are talking bikes, not life and death:rolleyes: John
April 10, 200818 yr To follow on from flecc's previous post, when I was a little lad in the late 1940's my father used deliver cars (Vauxhall, Luton) to a dealer in Brum, then people had to put their name down for a car up to 6 months before they had any chance of getting it. The "instant" probably came in attached to coffee. Derrick - Llanberis:rolleyes:
April 10, 200818 yr In fact I'm right on the edge of deciding to leave this forum, such is the idiocy of these postings. Flecc You can't do that!! 99% of what I have learnt about the new world of e bikes since I discovered it in January has been directly down to your amazing, seemingly infinite knowledge, on so many varied topics which you are so happy to share with others like me. And yes there are, I am sure, plenty of others who like me are patiently/impatiently awaiting the arrival of their new wonder bike - which will happen as soon as 50 Cycles receive it - and all the public huffing and puffing, with which I, and I assume many others, do not wish to be associated, will not bring that date forward one jot nor tittle. What I do notice is the good press for excellent service 50 Cycles consistently get from those lucky enough to have had their turn come up for delivery. David .
April 10, 200818 yr flecc surely an over reaction and a value judgement. why does this forum set itself up for conflict over differing opinions of 5o cycles? I dont think referring to members post as idiocy is particularly fair. "My advice to 50 Cycles would be, develop your customer service skills and product knowledge and keep the customer informed in a gracious manner."-urban puma i think urban puma s summary hits the nail on the head. And the members that are blowing fuses should just get on with it. It will all die down when the bikes start arriving in numbers. And, of course flecc you would be missed.
April 10, 200818 yr Extract 50 Cycles 4th March All I can say is sorry, we understand exactly how those waiting are feeling, but really these bikes are worth waiting for and we will hold the discounted price until they are well in stock. The reports back from those lucky enough to have a step thru has been fantastic, so we are very confident, excited and still really cannot wait to see the Gents Agattu like everybody else. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thats not the case any more is it. It would seem that people are no longer allowed to express their opinions on this forum on warranted issues surrounding the performance of ebike suppliers that affect them. Does the forum not extend to the perfomance of suppliers. No its not 50 Cycles fault that the motors or whatever part is not available and the productioon run is delayed but compare this to Wisper who are not selling the 905se in its english spec until they can give it to you. 50 C made a rod for their own back and now people are understandably beating them with it. I make no apology to anyone for speaking out if I feel I have been let down by a supplier. £1400 is a lot of money to give someone based on what you've been told only for dates to come and go. Personally I have cancelled my bike. Not because ive been waiting a huge amount of time for it but because I dont want my money sitting in someone elses bank account for an undesclosed period of time before I get my goods. Flecc you are over reacting re leaving the forum. Too many people rely on you but its your choice. 'cutting your nose off springs to mind' I will be leaving the forum as it is no longer a place where people can openly express their feelings without being told off. Forum: a meeting for the open discussion of subjects of public interest. well if crappy customer service from a supplier of products that we all own or have an interest in does not qualify under the dictionary definition, I dont no what does. Thanks for the memories Paul
