Think I have finally found the bike for me it
is the Freego eagle.Plan is to use it for my commute as well as pleasure.I did plan to take the battery in to my place of work and charge it when I needed to but on chatting with the sales person it seems the battery terminals are exposed to the elements when battery is removed. The bike will be parked in a shelter in car park.So wondered is this the same for most or all batteries. If this is the case are there ready made solutions out there to solve this problem.

Many are like this, but the only company I know of with a solution are Panasonic with the optional cover for the terminals in their crank drive unit.

Possible you could fabricate something similar, from a suitable plastic box maybe?

Yes. I had the same problem yesterday with the UM Fast4ward ... Used a small plastic tray.

Put Anderson connectors on then fit these
That can't be done with batteries that plug onto a base with connector blades like those referred to in this thread. Here's an example of a connection platform type and the type of battery base that plugs onto it:

Hi Sapper44

I wouldn't concern yourself with the need to remove the battery. This battery in pedelec mode is good for 50 miles plus. I just ride it wherever then charge at home with the battery on bike. With that sort of range you dont need to worry.
I would be interested in your view of the bike if you purchase.
