Wanted - Bafang SW02X motor hub

My back wheel motor is knackered on my Carrera Vengeance.. anyone got a bafang hub I can buy?

what's wrong with your motor? those SWX02s are pretty sturdy. The only thing fragile on them are the hall sensors. They are easy to replace.
I have SWX02 motors but on 26" rims, but not in 27.5" rims.

It smells of burning. When I bought the bike the guy said the motor smoked and stopped working. Now I've pulled it a part it really smells of burnt something inside. I've been trying to strip it down but I'm stuck now until my new cassette tool arrives tomorrow.

If I can replace the wiring then I might be able to save it.

I'm presuming I could use the old hub and just bolt in the new motor into the 27.5 rim? Would this work or are they different diameters do you know?

yes, but you have to buy a new SWX02 wheel in 26" rim, transplant the motor core over. What would you do with the other parts? clutch unit and rim + motor shell?

Most likely put them in the shed and forget about them like all the other things I have..lol, unless I can sell them to recoup some money.

Whats the going price for a rim? Although I have just bought another Carrera Vengeance.. opps picking it up at 9pm. so going to use the back wheel off that for now to finish my throttle project. Will post a video later hopefully on that.

as far as I know, they are used by me, Oxygen and Kudos, only Oxygen have them in 27.5". Kudos and I have them in 26". I don't know who else stocks SWX02.

It doesn't matter the rim size, have it re-laced if you can't do it your self.

it would be interesting to see the insides if/when you crack it open - my mate has the same setup on his oxygen 27.5" and his is now 2 year old + and still going strong

Hey fella, well I took my working vengeance round a 10 mile trip (with your working throttle) to Halfords and bought a cassette tool to fit. I've managed to remove this and discovered the hall sensor board.. It's this that looks like it's fried. Can you get hold of just these boards? Photo attached Also, should the windings be black.. some are black, some are copper looking?

What a mess. Looks like the hall board has been fried by the seriously over heated motor. Not sure how that would happen on a bike with no throttle. BTW the winding should be nice copper colour.

Yeah.. I can trace and repair the PCB (maybe) but I'm guessing the coils are shot so I would be wasting my time. Oh well... Andy got back to me with a price but I'm going to hold off and see if I can get a used one. I'm in no rush as I have two working ebikes at the moment.. one with your superduper throttle and a Vulcan. and.. and I have a zobop that I'm so tempted to electrify! But I really need to sell it as it was bought to do up and make a bit of money on.
