Not powerful enough for him possibly, Shimano's e-systems to date have reputedly been moderate in approach.

However, it could just be his preference for hub motors, those long used to hub motors like him often find difficulty in acclimatising to torque controlled crank drive.

It's not a question of acclimatisation. It's a question of which is best.

He looks pretty small and light. Could he be disappointed with the power?

It's no secret that WW doesn't like crank drive, when Panasonic first introduced their system he coined the phrase "an electric bike for Japanese grandmothers".

Yes easily, considering how many years and miles he's ridden his powerful eZee motored models. As John says, Wai Won doesn't like crank drives and he made that clear to me years ago.
