Its time to move, i.e, exercise. Hoping to get out and cycle with a bit of assistance either on the return leg or just a bit of help riding against the wind. still looking for the right bikes for the wife and I, i'm looking for an upright riding style, any suggestions?

There are literally dozens and dozens of bikes.
Price bracket and type of riding terrain.

If you are in the UK, why not pop into Halfords. They usually let you ride around the carpark to get a feel for the bike. Bigger stores have a wider selection of electric bikes though!

Thanks for the reply Nealh, cycle paths and road riding, short trips to start with. Hope to not spend much over 1k per cycle

our local Halfords were not very well stocked and the sales person didn't seem well informed

1k is tough to get a decent bike but they are out there and often are mail order. Try Halfords for a good deal the Bosch drive Crossfuse/Crosspath ebikes are a good bet. , For about £30 join Britsh cycling to get an extra 10% off the bike price also try using cash back sites for another 3% off.

Other wise look for tip top CS/backup for knowledgable help and repairs.
Two retailers that often get good feed back and recommends in the 1k area are Kudos and Woosh bikes.

Big store retailers the service and knowledge is very patchy often if your bike has an issue it may take 3 - 4weeks minimum to get you bike repaired or you may just be fobbed off.

Woosh I know and have had very good/excellent service from they will send out any simple to replace part the same day for dispatch to be fitted /swapped over by the end user or will find a dealer to deal with warranty issues local to you when you buy the bike.

In this area I recommend Woosh to every one, simply for their no nonsense approach and friendly approach.

Hi,
I have a 6 month old Carrera Crosspath, which we bought for my wife August or thereabouts last year. Unfortunately she cannot master her nervousness of traffic and as a result it is virtually unused. I have kept it ticking over by using it each week, and keeping the battery topped up and stored off the bike in the lounge. I will be advertising it on this site in the Spring, but if you think it might fit your needs I can upload some photos and details. Halfords were selling it for £1600 at the time, although we got 10% off (£1440). I gather its now on sale for £1280 or thereabouts. Its done about 270 dry and trouble free miles. If you are interested, let me know.

Hi Phil, thanks for the offer, still looking at the options and have yet to decide, will know in a week or two which style of bike to go for
