Hi new member here, about 6 weeks ago purchased a voodoo bizango e bike great bike long story short the shop couldn't find the battery key so was told the new bizango e bike was coming out with the shimano steps motor so I ordered one and they did a straight swap, but been having error codes popping up which shut the motor down been in the shop twice but they have said if I want I can swap for the zobop ebike which I know the Bosch motor is more reliable but not as smooth as the shimano I'm stuck what to do

You might want to check with some of the Bosch experts here.
I myself saw lots of problems online here in Germany, with the early models, but apparently (I am told) these problems are fixed, but that is all "hearsay" when I say it, as I have never even ridden one....
Check the age/version of the Bosch bike with help here from the experts on Pedelec.
On the early Bosch bikes they had internally plastic gears and only a single chain externally, which apparently does not last long as all the electric and muscle power goes through the same "thin" chain....
I wish you that everything turns out well for you.
regards
Andy

Hi andy
Thanks for the reply, I couldn't fault the bizango e bike with the bosch motor. But when I was given the opportunity to swap for the newer bizango with the shimano steps I jumped at the chance the motor is very smooth and doesn't hold you back like the bosch does when you get to about 16mph but currently the shimano steps has been throwing 3 error codes up looked them up and can be the battery the torque censor or crank they have ordered me a new bike but have also said I could swap for the zobop I'm tempted as it's the bosch motor but will look into the point you have pointed out thank you.

My pleasure, but get that verified by someone with actual Bosch knowledge, first hand knowledge!

some dealers will fit dongles and honer the warranty so you wont have any problems if you dont tell them one has been fitted.

it has never been a problem on my bike and it is now 5 years old but you might want to change the front sprocket to a bigger one, i have 20t on mine and can hit over 30 mph.

Good question. Maybe start a new Topic here with exactly that question in the title?
Also look on the web.
