hi, i bought a flare 2 years ago, great bike, i have just returned it to go outdoors, as i need 2 spokes, and he informs me where i charge it up in the frame its corroded. it still charges but can be a faff, as the male connector wobbles about. they have told me that neither part can be sourced, as the company has gone bust. go outdoors are still selling this brand even though theres no chance of getting parts. does anyone know if parts are available. many thanks howard

welcome, spokes are spokes, cheap replacements sets are about 10-£15 via amazon prime next day, a couple of quid cheaper on ebay and a week or so wait.. measure to the mm from the head bend and subtract 1mm for stretching (hook a spoke over a zero start metal ruler for a good measurement)
as long as all other spokes are taught i would suggest you can live without them 2 out of 36..

as for the charge connector take a few photos and post, I suspect its a replaceable part?

Go outdoors are a grand shop for camping gear and bottles of gas but not known for bike specialisation or expertise so dont be too hard on em..

the guys tried to get spokes, find it hard to believe he cant get any. i did think that, 2 spokes wasnt life threatening, the bikes i rode as a kid. wow. good idea with the charge connector. thousand thanks for the reply,

If those guys can't get spokes then they are not even part time bike mechanics and there your trust ends.
Spoke replacement and even wheel building is not as difficult as made out - I know 'cos at age 70 I've just done it for the first time.
Corrosion on the charge socket will be because of the sloppy fit. It will be replaceable but you may need a soldering iron and guidance a plenty is to be had here.

Try another bike shop. I broke 3 rear wheel spokes on my recent trip to Wales, it was right wobbly for the last half mile, and was able to get replacements in Llanberis, with Bangor as a backup. They were shops catering to active riders rather than just bike sellers.

You might have to remove brake disc and freewheel / cassette to fit them, if at the rear. Best way to get the right length is to remove an unbroken one and measure it. Once you have done this once, you won't need a bike shop again for those tasks!

As long as the charger connector is not integral to the battery, that bit can be solved, even if it means a new plug and socket and a bit of soldering.
